Furry Fandom and Drama General

Is it bad for furries to only commission art? Like, someone might might be able to draw but have idea for their sona (as long as it's kinda lika the person themeselves)?

You ask if it is bad -- according to whom? If commissioner can afford to commission, it's their money. Art takes time and experience, and it is unreasonable to expect to pick it up and pump out Doxy/Onta tier work within an hour of trying. It's probably "bad" if commissioner is an attention whore doing it for clout or to suck up to artists, or are fiscally irresponsible and decide their last $40 should be spent on a picture of their character sucking a chode instead of groceries.

I'm not sure what else you are trying to say because you seem like an ESL, or I at least hope you are.

Implying that the Venn diagram of "furries" and "BLM activists" doesn't have a large intersection. The number of chubby, lily-white furries in the internet Antifa scene is beyond risible. BLM had entire regional coordination chats going administrated by white furfags.
and its 100% likely both feds are watching it and fascists have probably infiltrated and make up to half the group population, probably.

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the concept of getting furry artwork commissioned, provided you're polite to the person you're commissioning and agree to their terms and pricing. What a lot of furries fail to grasp is that if you get something questionable commissioned which you then post publicly, you should expect that you should be open to any criticism you may or may not receive (even if you're not the one who drew it).

Example: you found an artist willing to draw you a picture of Renamon with breasts 5 times the size of the rest of their body for 40 bucks? I mean it's your life and money, do what you want. But if you post it publicly, you can expect people to make fun of you for spending money on that.

I'm just wondering if it's consider bad with how most of them seem to artist. I know many artist from any fandom could make a living from commission.
Well, I am sure you could get that digital painting of a medic who is made out of sandwiches.
You just have to find somebody who is in an acceptable pricerange and taste/style for you.

Oh boy.

We can now count the guy running that server as another person banned off FA because the twitter mob disliked what they were saying in some personal Discord or Telegram server. That bat guy joining this server brought attention to it, then some highly exceptional individuals with a grudge against the guy took advantage of the situation to spread stuff further on twitter and report him to FA and discord mods and all that other stuff.

Screencap of the message sent to him yesterday by FA admins is below here. I don't know if it's possible to give a more nebulous reason for a permaban than this:

Regarding the actions of Discord in response to the angry twitter furries, Discord requested that he remove all of the "threats to users, targeted harassment, or incited violence against individuals or communities". That stuff was already against the rules in the server (and enforced), so Discord was probably looking more at the forbidden opinions and the usage of offensive language. The server ultimately survived Discord's wrath.
For reference, the Discord stuff all happened Friday of June 5th whereas the FA ban happened yesterday the 9th.

From what I've seen, the people going around cancelling others are doing so more for their own gain than to fight "hate and intolerance" in their community like they'll claim. Whenever a lesser-known individual was brought up, no one at all on twitter cared. If anything, they'd express disappointment that it wasn't someone they were familiar with. It didn't matter how racist or anti-semitic or whatever that person was, all that mattered was if the person they were targeting had something to lose and twitter something to gain. The people most involved on twitter in the little bubble I was watching either had some old grudge with their target or were already making dozens upon dozens of tweets every day.

"After looking through your Facebook profile we decided you are too cringe to hang with us. Because of this, you are no longer allowed to hang out in the party zone with the rest of the cool kids. NOTICE: If you try to come back in a disguise we will snipe you from the roof." - FA Staff

Saying you're not a good fit for a bunch of AIDS-spreading child molesting dogfuckers is actually sort of a compliment, albeit not much of one, because most people who aren't complete deviates aren't.

It's funny that FurAffinity keeps doing this because now that they're actively banning furries who disagree with them, they're opening up another chance for someone to make their own art site.

If Animal Control has taught me anything with how long this site has stayed up, it's that a non-furry running a more general "adult art site" could do a better job of hosting a furry site than a furry ever could. They wouldn't need to deal with Furry Network style "your admin did X in the fandom this many years ago" type shit or other gay furry drama. This is cemented by the fact that Weasyl and Furry Network have utterly failed to take off and the only non-FA site that did suffers from what Josh called the quarantine problem. Inkbunny is more technically advanced compared to FA in many ways and they support features that sites like Pixiv or DA have had for years, yet it'll never ever catch on because they allow a specific demographic all the other websites and corners of the internet banned ages ago.

But who am I kidding, there's more idea guys out there than there are programmers online. It won't happen.

It's not even that. You could have the best-coded, best-managed website in the universe and it wouldn't make a difference. People won't be leaving Furaffinity for another website until either the servers irreparably crash and too much data is lost, or enough (read: a very large number of) high-profile artists flat-out move to this new website (very unlikely, since someone with 20+k followers doesn't want to start from zero), or... Furaffinity implements such a catastrophic policy change it just ejects most of the userbase.

Like, say... banning NSFW content.

Lookin' at you, Tumblr. Twitter thanks you for your userbase.

I can't wait until the Antifa rolls are released so I can confirm who was actually a part of it and who was just cosplaying.
Also to cross-reference the rolls with convention staff.

Anyone who would join a fed honeypot that keeps lists of its terrorist members isn't just normal antifa but dumb beyond even that. So yeah probably furries will be disproportionately represented in any such list.

Funny, no one cared about plot pieces of the movie when it first came out. In fact people ate the shit up. Now all of a sudden it's taboo? Now it's a problem that a major part of the plot involves police work?
It's almost like people are jumping on the bandwagon of hating LE in any medium for internet virtue points that are worth about as much as a fart.

Funny, I don’t remember any furries being pissed about it being about cops; Clawhauser being gay seemed to make most of them really happy for some reason.

Poor Disney. This is why you don’t set out to make a movie for furries; inevitably they turn on you like a pack of rats.
Of course many furries wanted Zootopia to be a two hour animated porn movie from the start. That would be the only plot point they'd NOT disagree with, or not come up with reasons to disagree with four years after the film was released.

The irony is that Zootopia represents what a lot of these people want: two racial minority characters (the first bunny and first fox in the force, one of them a female), foiling a racist plot to blame a minority (carnivores, 10% of the population) and reforming a condescending and arrogant police force to be more compassionate and inclusive.

But nevermind that. Black and Brown Good, Blue Baaaaaaaad.

If I recall correctly a lot furries made a big deal out of seeing Zootopia in the theater in full fursuit, and tweeted about it . I wonder how many of those tweets have been deleted for fear of them being canceled from the fandom.

Looks like Disney animator Joaquin Baldwin is doing some damage control to stay popular with the furries:
