This is an area of approximately 14.4 acres/5.8 hectares. Capitol Hill is about five miles south of the UW and 1.4 miles east of the Space Needle, up on an elevation.

I-5 splits the city in half between the downtown and waterfront area, which is on the lower elevation, and the east side, which is substantially higher. That area, Capitol Hill, is hipster central.

So...how exactly are these people holding this area of town? I know they didn't drive the cops out with violence, so did they just shout them out and now shout at anyone trying to get in?

I've heard of literally none of this until now, but my conclusion I drew from just that video is that it's a sonic fansite of some sort, probably about news about the franchise, and the owner of the site went full WOKE, many readers and one of the "reporters" didn't like it so that reporter quit, and the owner decided they "weren't a good ally" and shut down the site.
Kinda funny, not very meaningful in scale though.

Cucker Tarlson is going on and on about "They're trying to divide us by race!"...he's only half right. "They" don't have to try. Blacks, whites, and others were never united, and I've seen no evidence they can be. It comes with the territory of diversity. "They" are simply taking advantage of a weakness that was already there.

Simply put, the police blinked first. They could have stood their ground and turned the place into a bloodbath, but the chief decided that de-escalation was a better idea and the police left.

All that's going to happen is that these kids are going to get bored in a few weeks at most, and the police will move back in. I don't envy their janitors once that happens: they'll have a ton of shit and ACAB graffiti (what's the difference?) smeared on the walls to scrub off.

There's parts of Seattle where its a single lane for traffic and cars parked on both sides. Mostly the suburbs, but the rest of the city isn't any better. This was around Queen Anne neighborhood I saw this, like about 10 years ago.
