TL;DR there is a 0% chance of these people farming and a 100% chance, if their little fuck-den not disassembled before then, of them launching Viking raids into the city for McDonald’s nuggets. I can’t wait to see dirty trannies wielding dildo axes and trash can lid shields assaulting some poor sap through the drive through for bags of frozen fries.
Do you think their flux state would be allowed to leave their six measly blocks if they happened to pull off the miracle of Trump humoring their little idea.

I have to give it to you that image made me laugh so fucking hard just now I almost fell out of my chair

If they wanted to be autonomous I don't think it's a terribly bad idea to do a modern rat utopia experiment. Close off those six blocks and have Trump make an announcement

"You now have your independence, here are a few seeds, you'll need to start growing food the world is watching you"

It would be the ultimate entertainment

You gotta remember, they're not shutting down academia, they're shutting down STEM.
They’ve been screeching about the need to ‘queer STEM’ for ages now. Can’t have those people working with pesky objective reality now can we? Science is transphobic and all

The irony is that at high levels, the STEM world, science and research genuinely is as close to a happy clappy multinational meritocracy as you’ll get.
They push for queer representation in STEM and I just think no, we WANT you underrepresented. Quite fine with working with people of all ethnicities and backgrounds, just not irrational queer theory screeching when we are trying to cure cancer

UPDATE: It appears one of the Antifa leaders of the "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone" is a sexual abuser who's now threatening suicide. I think we see why they want to abolish the police.

Somebody dropped this in the Replies of one of her Tweets. Please kindly verify this if you will, esteemed Kiwis.

Like she's basically endangering the lives of minors and I totally believe is fully aware that they may be physically harmed as a result of this if not kidnapped, raped and/or murdered. Probably should report her ass to the glowies but your guess is as good as mine as to whether or not they would indict a black female celebrity despite her clearly breaking federal laws.

seems like the article is trying to be inflammatory over something that happened back in february. this guy had been pissing off the steam rep he talked to for years, and i guess the rep lost their temper and banned him. I'd hardly take this as any sort of official stance by Valve, especially since it happened in russia.

Imagine getting paid in toilet paper, holy crap :story: :story: :story:
I hope it will be pre-used.
The TP shortage in Seattle will continue for the foreseeable future.
All Starbucks will be "wiped" out of butt wipe, paper towels, assgaskets, subsequently plugging the toilets and making any plumbers more money.
Public restrooms best start installing bidets, or barring that, get private security to guard their paper goods.

I saw that park. It's a tiny plot of land. It might produce enough to feed a family or two (assuming it's actually incredibly fertile land), but for an amount you'd need to produce for trade and feed dozens. No. Not a chance.

Anyway, any "farm" these idiots tried to start would end up as much a success as the time Occupy destroyed decades of work on an experimental farm.

You need about an acre of land per person I think? And a person can cultivate an acre with non mechanised tools. I bet with modern techniques and machinery you can decrease the amount of land but there is no way that park is feeding a commune. Cultivation is hard work, pulling up turf by hand is back breaking, and danger hair troon commies are lazy and out of shape. Maybe they can harness some furries to the plough...

You gotta remember, they're not shutting down academia, they're shutting down STEM.

You know, that branch of academics which revolves entirely around objective evidence, requires extensive knowledge, and has extremely practical uses. Ie the exact opposite of the incestuous, useless, subjective, preening, bigoted, and self righteous brands of "Education" they so love. Want to get a degree in Neurosurgery? I'm afraid that makes you a racist. Here, take this degree in African american intersectional transformative therapeutic justice instead!

Haha, I love your use of the word incestuous to describe such forms of education. It is just perfect.

So confirmed, these people want to shut down STEM and academia because they are probably jealous, that those people in STEM are able to noticeably contribute to society? I am guessing that some people went to college and came out with a useless degree, then concluded that because their degree is useless, all academia is useless, that it's not fair, so to shut it down.
People who think Academia is useless or that STEM is useless clearly are salty that they made their parents pay six figures+ for an education in something nobody cares about. Should have gone to med school, smh. I feel like some people are not so smart, so they complain that certain subjects are inaccessible, and when they say that they really mean it's inaccessible to THEM because they are stupid or don't work hard.

I am usually not this angry on political things but this really sets me off. Education is a lifesaver for so many people, and it is just so, so entitled to want to get rid of some of the most important fields just because you feel like it's unfair or something. I don't even understand what these people are asking for. Education must be more accessible, but there should also be no education, because it's inaccessible and unfair?

Let me tell you, the STEM fields of particularly science and technology, are actually very accessible in the USA to anyone who has the skills or the time. I mean, even if you are living in the shittiest country you can still learn coding online, and possibly have a remote job doing so, as well as a universal skill if you ever move to the US.
If these privileged libtards actually set foot in a community college in NYC (ooh scary!!) or even a city college, they would find hundreds if not thousands of hardworking immigrants, people of color, and religious minorities who came from the most "inaccessible" backgrounds to be doing just fine, working towards a nursing degree, an engineering degree, or in medical school. STEM is a lifeline for a ton of immigrants from places like India, Bangladesh, Nigeria, and in those countries you can look also that they have many good, hardworking doctors and scientists. For people who do not speak English well especially, Math is one thing that can be studied across the globe in the same way, opening up doors for non-English-speaking Americans to study and get jobs where previously the language barrier would have prevented such opportunities. It is really, really offensive to all of those people who have worked so hard in the STEM field, to now say that STEM is racist, when there is such a high number of people of color and non-natives already working in such fields in the USA.

Every day in the hospital they are accepting new students of Med school who are from disprivileged backgrounds, but as long as they are hard workers it really doesn't matter. In some of the grittiest areas of big US cities, black doctors are already treating black patients (or however it was said in those list of demands) and saving lives, working all hours of the night in the clinic, but the hashtaggers would not know this because they do not live in those areas. Really, when medicine and STEM in general is one of the most intersectional areas of practice in their country, where there is more people of color working and studying than in any gender theory class, and where less privileged people have such an opportunity to go to school and actually help people, you would think we would want to preserve that field and encourage young people to enter it, rather than shutting it down.

Some of my family is immigrants and when they came to America, because of studying Science in their home country, were able to go to college in the US and have amazing careers in Medicine and Research. And this family members I'm talking about...they are people of color, you stupid fucking hashtaggers. They have grown up in a communist country during famine and fascism. And it is maybe harder for them than for a white person who grew up in the USA, but at the end of the day they won't give a fuck about that, because regardless of racism in the United States, they proved their intelligence and skills with the help of STEM AND ACADEMIA. Now they have the power to encourage other young people to attend medical school and other college regardless of their background, and many great scientists are being created in the process, of all different races and status.

Take away STEM and academia and you are crippling those people. You are actively fighting for the hardest working people of color and immigrants to be taken out of their job, or shamed for their lifetime of hard work.
