Eidos Montreal is an acquisition of Square Enix, and is responsible for the nu-Deus Ex games, like Human Revolution, Mankind Divided, and The Fall.
The original Deus Ex of 2000 was developed by Ion Storm and published by Eidos Interactive, way before the acquistion.

Well the Matrix writers turned out to be obnoxious troons, so it's entirely possible. You know that normal process where people get more conservative as they got older? I say this because Deus Ex was probably intended to be Neocon Derangement Syndrome: The Video Game, and the only complexity in the narrative came from throwing in every conspiracy theory that held sway in the 1990s over top of the core "Corporate man bad" message, and the natural evolution of people who were saying that in the early 2000s is to start rambling about "structural racism" and all the other woke buzzwords today.

These SJWs that are railing against the most mundane things have the opposite effect of what they’re trying to accomplish on me. Because of them, I just want to go to Cracker Barrel. It’s like the time when they got mad at Chick-Fil-A and the boycott failed terribly because too many normies like the food. The thing about George Carlin was that he went after everyone and some of his best bits were aimed a lot at liberals and Political Correctness. Its like these guys fully ignored the left wing criticisms even in his last special just to masturbate to him bashing the right wing.
