1. Economy sucks.
2. Careers take precedence over marriage and relationship seeking

By marrying off children before they’re ready to decide for themselves whether or not they’d like to marry, their decision-making processes are short-circuited, and her husband presumably takes an active hand in leading her into adulthood and molding her into the ideal wife. Never mind the connotations of slavery, or the obvious absurdity of expecting a couple to abstain for many years until one of them is mature enough to have sex.

Also, never mind that arranged marriages with huge age disparities are actually legal in many parts of the US, so technically, unless @BoxerShorts47 literally wants to fuck children, the law already caters to him.
