I think the whole "Autonomous" part of the label, if it was anything other than an arts major using a word that sounded super official and cool, referred to "Autonomously-Policed" if anything. People are willingly following the common law, no need for husky old guys to come give them parking tickets on city time.

I know a few things about tires. Correct me if I'm wrong. The Fix-A-Flat stuff, does that actually work as intended?

Okay, once I learn, I'll let you know. I assume YouTube and then actually practice on somebody's car.
Not too sure. I've got it for my bikes but they have pretty stiff sidewalls on the tires, so for all I know it was just making a mess for myself.
I know it's gonna get me rainbow rated but I feel like there was a brief time in the U.S. when we had that "doesn't matter what/where/how you are, if you're American, you're home" and we all tried to accomodate each other and build a sense of community on commonality.
I've lived in ethnically homogenous places and while more predictable and stable, there are some downsides as it reflects the poor qualities of that one too. I feel like it would be pretty possible in this era if it weren't for politically-motivated interlopers jamming their disruptive "Hey don't get chummy, you two are supposed to hate and fear each other like you did before! Hands off!" agendas in every bit of domestic media.

After working with the Chinese for an extended period, I KNOW I wouldn't want to live in that. The Japanese? Ooh. I love their animated pornography, don't get me wrong, but they certainly don't have that all-too-important, traditional American "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" that I want in somethin' I'm livin' in. (also, the right to "truth" is enshrined, which I never knew would be so contentious. Now the very thought that there is an objective truth of any kind is somehow evil, because it negates the influence of people's feelings.)

If Americans had common goals, like everyone trying to make a happy family they can provide for, or making their mark in their industry, or just searching for joy however they can, then we'd solve a lot of these problems before they start. Whatever. I'll go back to my trapdoor spider hidey-hole.
They'll probably find a way to blame the statue.
Who wants to bet in the future we'll see them integrate 'dismantle-friendly design' and 'Amateur-safe Removable Materials' in future tenders for statues?

A bitch on the mic in Seattle:
"We can not allow this movement to become led by male voices!"
Didn't this happen in the area that was designated as an open mic safe space where anyone was permitted to say whatever they wanted? :story:

HBO MAX has removed Gone With The Wind because its racist. Hattie McDaniel was the first black woman to win an Oscar, and she won for her portrayal of a ladies maid in the film. Now she's canceled.
That's the thing, these activists are so gung-ho to rewrite or erase the history and past events that trigger them to much, that they neither know nor care -- or simply DGAF -- about the collateral damage. If Hattie McDaniel is the actress I'm thinking of, she was as impressive a woman as she was an actress. The fact that people want to take away her accomplishments in an era where black female actresses were rare, let alone award winners, shows that their concept of "erasure" is smoke and mirrors just like every other SJW buzzword and phrase.

So in 2 days:
-The leader was accused of rape and commited suicide.
-They ran out of food.
Largely clicking on highlights, did we ever get confirmation of the leader's suicide or did Twitter fall for the person's suicide baiting yet again (ICYMI, another Kiwi managed to dig up and share previous suicide bait tweets earlier in the thread)?

It's not surprising the homeless ate all the food since none of these people believe it's acceptable to tell someone "No," especially someone deemed to have less privilege. Still, it was something to see them go from, "We don't need money, we'll pay via paper products and the barter system" to "We have no food, please give us your bux so we can get some, pls kthx."

The warlord situation makes the obvious (to 'Farmers, if not them) point that their utopian ideals instantly go out the window the second one person in the group decides they won't play nice with everyone else for whatever reason.

I just saw that Cracker Barrel was trending on Twitter, so I checked it out.
They have a huge Southern Belle/Dixie aesthetic, and a lot of lower class whites frequent it.
Cracker Barrel's whole gimmick is that they're a restaurant on the side of quite a few highway exits, that they have a "good old days" theme, that the front of the restaurant is a gift shop as well, and that they sell rocker chairs up front. The theme of that restaurant probably offends Twitter users who think anything from the past is problematic unless it's about idealized minority history only.
As others have said, Cracker Barrel is the place one goes to for a quick meal in the middle of interstate driving or for those desiring vintage nostalgia. I have no idea how reasonable the prices of the gift store items are, but I imagine it's a hit for those interested in those particular wares. It's a shame that we live in a time where snowflakes :tumblr: get triggered at the mere mention/sight of anything associated with police, republicans, the Southern US, etc. *sigh*

Even going as far as to claim that police brutality is something that statistically matters neuters the police. The rate at which it happens versus the amount of encounters per year is so statistically insignificant, it might as well not even exist.
I think "reform the police" works just fine as a slogan and would probably get more of the right people behind the cause...but that's not really what BLM wants, is it?
Whomever said it's not tough sounding enough (paraphrased) is probably right. Sure, law enforcement could use some fine tuning when it comes to certain practices and could do more in the way of building community relations, but "police brutality" is one of those terms that is vague enough no two people define it the same and people use is as a way to move the goalposts when it comes to improving law enforcement.

What would the best way to deal with shitty cops?
comply, follow their orders, don't talk or answer questions beyond what is necessary to identify yourself, say that you want a lawyer
@DumbDude42 has the gist of it, and it's good advice to remember because there will always be shitty cops because every field has shitty people.

A college-aged Lime Pie was invited to a young adult event taking place at an area church. Arriving early, I waited in my car listening to the radio. When I bent over to change the station, I noticed a police car had pulled up next to me. TL;DR, I was told that my bending over inside the car (to change the station) was suspicious and asked "Why are you really here?"

The officer parked his cruiser in the opposite corner of the lot and kept an eye on both me and someone else that eventually arrived early as well. Once the officer realized nothing suspicious or nefarious was going to happen, he finally gave up and left the lot to resume his patrol.

Anyone in that situation could have easily copped an attitude over being questioned for no legitimate reason, but it was better to answer the questions and show them that they wasted their time staking out people waiting for a building to open up to event attendees. And this city's cops are already known for being heavy-handed at times, so this was definitely one of those situations where complaining would be pointless at best and counterproductive at worst.

The new line is that "Defund the police" ackshually means downsizing them and replacing the majority of their roles with something akin to a social worker crossed with Doctor Who.
And of course they'd try to backtrack and move the goalposts when people take their claim at face value and push back -- especially when the CHAZ people actually demanded the local police disband and forfeit their accrued benefits. It shows that they'll say and do whatever it takes to accomplish their twisted goals.

I just now put it together that the car was named after robert e lee.. what the fuck..
My young self used to think my next door neighbor -- a diehard fan of the show -- was calling the car the "General E" because of how he slurred the L and E sounds.

Notice how none of the rails go to the Northwest, besides Seattle. Even THEY know not to fuck with those people.
I could be wrong, but i believe there is a northern rail line that goes through Montana and those northern states (as shown in gray) because I know someone that took a train tour of the US and took that route all the way to Washington State. Based on the map, it looks as if these folks aren't demanding high speed rail on that stretch. I also believe it might be unfeasible due to the mountain ranges in that area.

We did. What changed? Depends on who you ask. The official narrative is that "it's just the natural progression", but I think most of us know that's a load of shit.

looking forward to them tearing down the Washington Monument and crushing half of BLM under it

@cityofPortsVA saying anyone who scales their monument will be removed for safety
No, not this time. You can tear down all the statues you want, but when innocent terrorist insurgents get injured by their own stupidity - that they won't stand for!

They even apologize for the terrorist insurgent getting injured. Unbelievable!

Fix a flat does kinda work but it pisses the fuck out of the fire replacement guys. I’d rather burn a AAA tow than use that shit.

True story, but I used one of those hook and strip kits for one of my tires that had a nail hole, circa 2014. Still driving on it. I also keep my tires inflated (top off) with a hand pump.

All circumstances that confer too much effort and a deep desire on my part to drive into the chaz and properly patch the one with some joggerskin.
It works just fine, if you're willing to take the time to hose off all the shit and piss.¹

¹ Be mindful of not also washing away the small usable portion.

Somehow I smell an russian about 20-30 years old who laced his interactions with other STEAM users with huge amounts of profanity of a "certain" type.
Enjoy your ban, Cyka Blyat! :story:
Also, this the most autistic gaming site I ever had the displeasure to spend time with. Holy fuck that dude is really borderline paranoid.
