I'm going to start a petition for master/slave modes to be replaced with xem / xyrs modes. It's time we abandoned these ethnocentric heteronormative terms, and stand on the right side of history.
 
I could have sworn that master/slave terminology in computing had been deprecated ages ago. I didn't know it was used in mechanics too, I've heard of stuff being called the master cylinder or whatever but never heard of a slave, don't they just call them secondaries or something? What a load of getting upset over nothing.

E: To all the Reees reading this, the blacklist/whitelist replacement is so obvious I'm amazed you haven't thought of it yet. Replace blacklist/whitelist with canceled/not-yet-canceled or "NYC" for one of those nifty tech acronyms everyone's so fond of.

E2: The "redlight/greenlight" idea is retarded as well. Red is """""racist""""" against native americans and green is ethnocentric and imperialist. In a lot of countries and languages stop lights don't turn "green" because green as a color is an import from their oppressor.
