In Spain we boo at our own anthem and no one outside of the fringe extremist right says shit. So I'm fairly sure the rest of the world won't really give a shit at all. I mean if they got used to us... you know.

For those who may wonder. Issue is that the anthem of spain was the Himno de Riego originally. But when the borbon monarchy got to power they banned it due to being anti-french. And changed it for the current "anthem", which wasn't even an anthem at all. Then it was recovered again, and then franco banned it and returned this "anthem" after he declared himself dictator. So since the ones that pushed this anthem were always the totalitarians and the Himno de Riego is seen by many as the true anthem, well, not many actually like the fucking anthem. So while only the lefties are vocally against it, most see protests against it as relatively acceptable, and even a lot of right wingers prefer the old one. Which is why we have gotten a habit of having people boo it practically all the time.

So yeah I'd say if the rest of the planet got used to that someone taking a knee won't matter to them at all.

In his eyes, Trump is the enemy, so he will support anything that opposes Trump. He may be educated, but that does not mean he is wise. He could talk for hours about the complexity of the banking industry, but ask him about Trump and he will respond with ORANGE MAN BAD. That is because he does not have the time to focus on learning about Trump. Add on top of that his probable bias towards conservatism/Trump’s policies, which makes it difficult to acknowledge Trump’s perspective.

This video is just... something else. What happens to that guy is pretty horrifying, but also you have to be a fool to stand under a 600 lbs statue that is getting taken down. The people clapping. Then the guy who keeps calling for "medic" (so random protesters with a box of plasters in their backpack) instead of calling the fucking 911. Everyone rushing around him instead of leaving room for qualified personnel to come help. The cops who come to assist him and everyone is okay with it, even if they were the devil 5 minutes ago.

Also - I wonder how the woman who gave instructions on how to take down statues with ropes feels today.

Sister Of Fallen Police Officer Asks ‘Where Is The Outrage’ Over Her Brother’s Death

Angela-Underwood Jacobs, whose brother Dave Patrick Underwood was killed recently in the line of duty during a riot in Oakland, California, asked Congress where the outrage was over her brother’s death.

Underwood, 53, was a federal officer for the Department of Homeland Security and was guarding a federal courthouse in Oakland when he was shot multiple times by an unidentified person in a vehicle. It was most likely a targeted attack on police officers, according to Oakland Police. The FBI is currently investigating the incident.


“The heartbreak, and the grief, is unexplainable because it’s very very hard to articulate when your entire world has been turned upside down,” she said during her Congressional testimony Wednesday.

“I do want to know, though, when I think about all of this, that my brother wore a uniform, and he wore that uniform proudly. I’m wondering, where is the outrage for a fallen officer that also happens to be African-American?”

Why would you stand directly in front of where the statue is going to land in the first place? Why didn't anyone give a warning to move out of the way? It's a metaphor. They just want to pull everything down and don't care about hurting people along the way, even people on their side.

In Quixotic Man's post you can see they stood around like idiots blocking the way then just yelled at the cops to "take a knee" when they showed up to help. Doesn't look good for that dude no way that guy got any kind of treatment anything resembling a timely fashion with those dolts clogging up the streets.
