Why wouldn't you take it at face-value? If someone says "I demand that we defund the police!" you take that as is- how the hell are we supposed to know that it's doublespeak for something else?

I am 100% convinced that these idiots did want to "defund the police" in the most literal sense at first. And then something made them slam on the breaks and go "Uh, heh heh, nah, we meant we just want to downsize and reform them! Where'd you get that crazy "abolish the police" shit from?"

I don't know if their political/corporate overlords told them to walk that shit back, I don't know if someone managed to light up a little gray-matter and realized that tanking the cops would screw them over more than help them (or maybe they just realized that no cops=no more convenient scapegoat), but I genuinely believe that when they first said "defund the cops", they meant it in the most literal sense.

It started as defund/disband. But disband got too much backlash and was dropped almost immediately. Now, if they can "defund" the police, these people think they can just slowly disband them by ensuring that no money exists for new recruits and they keep funneling increasing amounts of funding into other areas like these social workers that are supposed to solve all the problems by arriving at the scene within the hour and giving everyone rainbows and flowers.

On the positive side of things, I think some normies that jumped immediately on to BLM are starting to get bored of the movement. Out of the 4 friends on my fb that immediately jumped on the BLM train, only 1 of them is still going in hard on the stuff, posting daily updates. Everybody else has eased off and moved to posting about video games, tv, and animals, with the occasional anti-white/cop shit. (4-5 days between)

A lot of people are low level virtue signalers who are ready to jump on a trend, but are averse to putting in any leg-work. They probably need a new minority group or cause to jump on to at this point, dopamine kick isn't that high supporting a movement going on to week 3. I'm in Canada though, the atmosphere may be a little different.

The situation was fucked, I don't think it was murder - but someone's lack of thoroughness cost a life and injured others.

It was a fuck up - wrongful death imo. I also think the floyd death was wrongful. The drugs and underlying condition contributed but the handling of him was overkill.

what does justice look like? It looks like a full independent inquiry into each death, full impartial access to the same systems of inquest, and law everyone else has. Charges being brought if needed, and due process. Injustice is if those systems don’t serve white and black equally. Justice is not burning the fucking country down and destroying lives and history.

In a surprising show of spine a judge said they would be permanently banned from protesting outside the school, stating they had grossly misunderstood what was actually being taught.
