It did come up really suddenly. My guess is that it's a remote work situation. A lot of companies are realizing people can work remotely perfectly fine; my company was really against remote work and has done a 180 on that in the past two months.I do like 'White Flight' Becky, though. She's clearly hiding something with why they're moving, and it's likely either financial or, considering it's Becky, the option that reflects worse on her is most likely the correct one. Suddenly she feels nebulously 'unsafe', for absolutely no riot-based reasons whatsoever.
Given that 2/3 of them aren't working and the one that is can probably work remotely perfectly fine after this is all over, perhaps they found a cheaper place that's more of a commute. Maybe it's feeling cramped, the current apartment looks kinda small in pictures and its occupants keep getting bigger. Also, maybe there's something wrong with the place that makes it so cheap that they aren't aware of.
