Fanmade Pokémon Designs (Fakemon) - Tracers, garbage designers, and of course, furries

This really reminds me of Pokemorphs, a corner of Youtube my unsupervised ass found a long time ago. What they are is you got two or more Pokémon sprites, went into MS Paint, and edited them together.
Here’s some examples:

But you're right - a lot of the designs here kinda do look more like pokemorphs when you compare them. I guess fan pokemon was what making pokemorphs became? Only here people are doing them because a lot of them seem to think they can do a better job with monster designs, rather than for fun like in the old days?

Back in the day most fakemon were pretty terrible, but atleast the majority of creators were children just having fun.
Nowadays, you have the Instagram artists who trace, the autists who treat people like shit for not liking their design, and the redesigners who's grasp on character design are very minimal at best.

I'm not sure if this would apply as Fakemon but sometimes this one channel gets recommended to me and good God.

I never know where to begin when I see their videos, this are the Pokémon video equivalent of eating cheap popcorn.

In fact the first time I glanced at some Gen 5 mons I actually thought they were Fakemon, and was genuinely surprised to find out they were actual, official designs.

A lot of his redesigns just take the old designs and tack on a bunch of unnecessary accessories. I understand some of his decisions, but the way he does it is incredibly garish and makes them a clusterfuck.

I like how he made Machamp's face look a bit more fierce, but the hat and facepaint make it look a bit tacky.

The calico patterns on the two are a sore on the eyes. I respect his desire to make Persian's design more than my mom's cougar, but the end result looks like a bad Chinese knockoff.

The body style is incredibly ugly, and he tacks on ugly moon tattoos because why not.

The heavy hands and feet look just plain abhorrent. Also why did you have to make its boobies droop?

I'm beginning to think that this guy's a furry.

The major issue I have with both of these is the addition of a nose, rather than just nostril holes like the originals have. It gives them Hitler moustaches.

The series started with a ball that got flipped upside down when it evolved, a cat that got bigger, and a pile of sludge, all of which were designed by an autist. When you realize a lot of pokemon were designed to be replacements for gen 1 and reflect america it makes sense. Garbordor and trubish are based off of the muk line and are designed to be reference to our throw away culture. Not only does the ice cream cone look like a diabetic in it's final form but it's pokedex entry let's you know the icicle/ice cream cone design are made to trick people. I don't know I find the ice cream cone funny because everyone knows about the baloon that tries to abduct you and the tepir that tries to kidnap you but no one wants to talk about the pokemon that looks like an icecream cone so it can freeze and eat you.
