She is, I believe, a legitimate case of tokenism enacted by a party/movement that, while not necessarily racist at its foundation, has no strong and concerted concern for the legitimate issues that plague the African-American community (contrast with Democrats/liberals, who overwhelmingly pretend to care while not tackling root issues).
