I was actually following TGWTG during that entire Spoony fiasco. I believe Linkara may have said something saying that he "supported" Spoony in the sense that he wanted him to get better. Basically, Linkara didn't take a side.

Honestly, this was probably the best choice. Spoony's falling out with CA was pretty horribly handled on both sides, and no one really came out the "better man" in the scenario.

I agree with that. Both sides were terrible in how the scenario happened. I do recall that some of the tgwtg fans were also interested in getting spoony out of there as they seemed to want him censured. Not sure if its true or not thoU.

It was a bad joke, but from what I heard, Holly (one of the HR people for CA before she was let go for other, also BS reasons) was friends with Lupa and both her and Lupa exacerbated the situation, making Spoony's blowout even worse.

I know that Spoony needs to reel in his emotions and seriously focus on getting some more serious help, but I would've imagined it would've been Holly's job to, you know... shut people up.

As a rule of thumb, airing your dirty laundry in public is never helpful as a rule of thumb. However, Spoony probably saw his fans as his friends and from what I hear on the streets that he turned his forum into his hugbox and isolated himself from criticism too much.

Wow...so Spoony tying her up in his basement would have spared Nash alot of pain and money....

From what i know on what caused spoony to get kicked out, obscura and many of that hated his guts and would have done anything to be rid of him. So when spoony was in a bout of depression and wrote his wishing I was a dog tweet, lupa found the opportunity to basically send spoony over the edge. Sadly she was successful.

Linky was nowhere to be seen when the meltdown occured. Whether he was on spoony's side or not, we may never know.

It's ever so slightly more nuanced than that.

Spoony's side of the story dismissed the Lupa allegation. He said it was more of a long time coming and that he was only suspended by TGWTG for the tweet. Not fired.

He basically said while he was mad over getting suspended he realized he wasn't making that much money from the website. He noted that he infact lost money whenever he went to a TGWTG crossover (to the point where he even asked for money upfront for his appearances there) and that if he went solo he could make his own ad revenue without a middleman. Which is what he did when he left TGWTG.

I'm more inclined to believe Spoony than the story Lupa got him fired given Spoony was one of the most popular people on the site, and he has in fact made more money going solo (he's one of the highest paid video game critics on patreon now). It's to the point where there are rumors that Doug has asked Spoony to come back to the site a few times because they've been losing ad revenue gradually. (Which is cited as the reason why they went back to Youtube).

I may not like LordKat all that much but he and a bunch of other ex-CA staff have talked about their time there and they honestly seem to have matured and grown away from the company rather than sounding bitter. Lupa just ruffled my feathers regardless what show she was on. I tried to like her, but she's too "Look at me!!!" and loud. I wanted to reach through the screen and bonk her on the head when she was the guest on The Bootleg Zone. (Which also showed her and Phelous' couple osmosis - It's just really blatent that they have limited humour in that episode. So painful to watch)

I know LordKat is a bit of a twat who likes to blame all his problems on CA, but my God, I didn't realise he talked about them so much!

LordKat does more than seven hours of radio in any given week. It's still way too much audio, especially considering he's not really connected or networked to that many important people, but it's really not all that much.

Let's face it. There are few on TGWTG that you could consider a lolcow but I consider Linkara to be the head honcho of lolcows on that site.

His so called comic "reviews" are nothing more than Let's Read's. He has a big ego with self entitlement issues and the way he treats his fans are appalling.
He pretty much whines at his fans when Ad revenue isn't paying his bills and demands you turn off adblock and buy his crappy merchandise.

He's also creator of the "Lightbringer" Web Comic. It's as bad as Sonichu. Like Chris, his main character is a Mary Sue of himself who is pretty much a ripoff of batman who kills villains as he's fit. The villains are straw men. (pretty much the same villain every issue.) His portrayal of women are pretty much how Chris portrays them. 1 dimensional stereotypes.

I actually have a bit of respect for Linkara. Or something remotely approximating respect. As much respect-approximation as being on Channel Awesome allows, anyway. He's been on a steep downward slide quality-wise the last few months. With the acknowledgement that TGWTG is essentially overrun by SJWs, and Phelous and Lupa fucking off to greener pastures, the main reasons I even stick around are this asshole and Brad Jones. Nash to a lesser degree, but I watched the Radio Dead Air streams before I was ever aware of Channel Awesome's existence.

I don't really think Linkara counts as a lolcow. Some of his content remains solid and enjoyable, which automatically puts him above faggots like MovieBob and IrateGamer (who, coincidentally, Linkara is responsible for one of the best take-downs of ):

Has he made bad decisions? Absolutely. Is he waist-deep amongst SJWs and probably would do better if he followed the leads of other critics and distanced himself from the failboat that is Channel Awesome? Fuck yes. Is his plea to not block his ads cringe-inducing? ABSOLUTELY. But Linkara has self-awareness, humility, and a willingness to make fun of himself, all of which are strong cases for "not a lolcow." He may be a serial fuck-up on several levels, but he loves what he does, and he's actively trying to improve his shit. I can respect that.

So I will make the case that Linkara is not a lolcow, a trait he remarkably enough does not share with Mr. Enter.

By that line of thinking, he's actually equating the death of a fake child in Cry for Justice on the level of what happened to JonBenét. I'd let it slide if he ever actually went back on it, but he's never given the impression that he still doesn't think exactly like that. He takes every bad thing that happens in superhero comics as a genuine crime, and has never indicate that he's moved on from the kind of thing most people learn to move past by the time they're 12.

Linker doesn't read a substantial amount of anything other than superhero comics from DC or Marvel. He's not quite at Mr. Enter level since he at least reads a substantial amount of shit from before he was born, but he's along the same line of thought.

If you read comics and but haven't read anything from Europe, haven't read any classic newspaper comics, haven't read any Carl Barks or Little Lulu, and in general go out of your way to avoid non-superhero books, you don't know shit.
