I'm sick of people pretending to give a shit about EVERYTHING. I do what I can for the environ, for people, for being nice, for being fair and equitable, but I'd be lying if I said I gave even a second of a shit about nonexistent, hypothetical people out there in the ether.

We can get rid of all our current crop of police, eject them to the sun, and ten years from now they'll be just as violent. We have a HUGE problem with combative, hostile arrestees on the lower end of our culture, and since the low class folk make the most crime, they get arrested the most. They fight, A LOT. Humans look for patterns, get headbutted in the nose a couple times by someone playing it cool then aiming to smash your face when you let your guard down and they'll figure out using s'more force helps keep that from happening.

I'm not sure how to fix it, I'm sure you could argue that people who get policed have little faith in the way they can prove their innocence. They feel their time is wasted trying to argue in court or at jail, but most people I saw getting cuffed seemed to earn it after spitting on the EMT's and abusing them, swinging at cops, being combative, etc. If a cop says "Hey, cut that out. Quit yelling so close to my face." I'd think sane people would chill, but for crazy folks, let's amp it up even more. It's like prodding an ex during an argument.

Reforms I'd argue for: Mandatory ride-alongs with PD in high school for seniors, or incentive-based ones
