Not-E3 2020 Thread

I think it was the opposite. The constant complaints about everything that looked remotely realistic = everything has to look like a cartoon or a granny's knitting bag. The increasing number of people gaming on laptops and console fans starting to care about framerate and resolution means that realistic games are going to take a large graphical hit on the downgrade.
and you have a generation of graphic artists who are unable to do anything but "realistic" graphics so we get dog shit.

The funniest thing about Volcano High is that, had it not been shown off at the presentation, literally nobody would have cared. It would have been another dime-a-dozen stupid indie shit made by pretentious woke hipsters that pops up on Steam and other digital stores but nobody ever buys. At the same time, it would have at least appealed to its smaller audience; those people would have lapped it up, it gets some attention among douchebag journalists, maybe some streamers mock it, and it's forgotten about in a week,

By showing it off at the presentation debuting one of the most anticipated consoles out there, the game got exposed to normies' eyes, and this is the result. Normal gamers don't want this shit, and it having such a hideous artstyle is certainly doing it no favors. The developers were probably thinking that this was their big chance to open to a wider audience, not realizing literally nobody outside their group gives a shit. They should have just not bothered.

I wondered how they even managed to get their game to be a part of the presentation, alongside so many other AAA games with enormous budgets. I guess one of the developers must have been friends with one of the higher ups of the new woke SCEA. Christ Almighty, that shit got a bigger stage right out the gate than fucking Undertale or Minecraft ever did until long after their popularity had exploded from word of mouth alone.

The one nice thing I'll say about Goodbye Volcano High is that it's at least memorable, unlike most of the bland garbage on display.

While we’re still here I made a stupid song about that dino game.
Bye bye, miss volcano high, another crappy woke game that should’ve just died.
Also, Dust looks like a better furry game than this, even if the characters look like Neopets.
Dust is a pretty good game in its own right, even considering how it's a furry game. I guess it also helps that it's Korean and devoid of SJW nonsense (that I know of; I never beat it).

Interesting a werewolf game.

Not gonna lie, this one definitely caught my interest. I've always wanted a werewolf-themed game, preferably an open world one. So I'll keep an eye on this to see if it meets my expectations.

Dust: An Elysian Tail came out in 2012. Socjus stuff was not common outside of Tumblr at the time.

The Epic Games Store thing is a major hype killer. Still going to keep an eye on this game.
An oWoD Werewolf game even, I'm somewhat interested in the premise although knowing current year it'll be injected with distracting current politics.

Also PC Game Show tomorrow, what are people here hoping for besides Yu-sona 4?
Just want to see some good games.

Terry would of designed a Next gen console that looked unique while not being dog shit, we should of listened. But now we must take our wifi router and Mini fridge and deal with it

I just want some good ports man, not even due to PEECEEE MUSTARD RACE, but because PC has an easier time with preservation then consoles have in so many ways it's not even funny.

People have been using programs like Charles to backup old patches and basically revert any console game back to whatever version they want. Right now for modern games it's about on par because I was looking into replatting Demons Souls without online and apparently there's private servers running using a specific version.

Xbox360 and PS3 are able to do stuff in a similar manner with Charles as is Xbox One and PS4.

You can then save the patch data for future use in either a USB or a hard drive, but I never got that far ahead to that point. I just needed to get past a section that the devs blocked off and tied it to future DLC for another game.

I've been following the development a bit. From my understanding, it's a third person hack and slash action game...
