I really wasn't sure how they were playing it in the article at first. Initially it seemed like they were poking fun at the "X died X number of times on the way to the hospital" to show how goofy such a narrative is. And then I get further along in the article and they're playing it straight with no sarcasm or tongue in cheek at all. And then at the very end she's still alive despite "dying three times". When you plan on using something as a boogeyman you cannot have that something be nuanced. It has to be distinctly evil or you run the risk of shedding support more quickly.

In spite of the money spent on US education the graduates produced are ignorant in almost every subject. Grade school and High School used to serve as institutions where basics were learned in terms of language, math, and history now they just serve to prepare some for the next phase of indoctrination education while pushing them through watered down material too fast for them to actually think about the material. Rather they are left to simply accept their teacher's opinions and move on.

The US education system needs to be torn down and rebuilt with a very strict curriculum that actually educates instead of making a difference.

Well that's very well true the the attitudes of people should change or improve. There's a lot of Policies in place for example In my state once a person commits a crime and they're obviously found to be mentally incompetent before a judge Instead of receiving any kind of treatment they sent first to jail. Once they get out in no better shape than they were before they may ultimately find that there is very little community services or programs to help rehabilitate them because state services have been cut entirely.
Mental health reform and drug treatment reform has been shown to drastically reduce crime and poverty.

RE: Drugs, avoiding drug use also reduces crime and poverty. Society needs to stop mollycoddling and leave them to their fate. They put themselves there, it's not up to the rest of us to fix their problems for them.

I don't disagree with taking down a lot of the Confederate statues - but not all of them. In the end many of them are just commemorating war dead, and that is something anyone can appreciate.

With that said Robert E. Lee always gets a particularly bad wrap. He was not pro-succession, he fought for the South with a heavy heart because he could not bring himself to fight a war against Virginia. After the war he was pro-reconciliation.
