"Lady" you live in Finland now. Finns still like the police just fine so maybe cut that crap out. They are trained well and have very few shootings, deaths or even injuries related to them. Sure we hate getting tickets, police gets stuff wrong, the paperwork can be absolute hell and stuff like that but generally the police is well liked and has decent reputation. "Dispatch the police" makes you look like complete idiot.

Sounds to me like Academic Foxhole's boss/coworker really wanted to help him out, but then she talked to the employees accused of homophobia and figured out he was lying or making a mountain out of a microaggression.
Edit: I mean, it's possible those he accused of homophobia simply lied and denied everything, but if the woman was that upset a week later, he was probably full of shit.

If you’re an LGB, then you don’t exactly need people to tell you that you are ‘real’. You like who you like, and it doesn’t matter if someone believes you or not. Of course there’s still issues, but things are getting much better than they used to be. Not so for the T.
The T’s existence as the opposite sex is one that counts on society to see them as that. And there’s so many different ideas of what is actually T means that discourse is a mess. Is a T just a man in a dress, or only real when there’s a medical thing going on, or anyone who says they are is real, is gender even real, the different ideologies get so complex it’s hard to get anyone to agree on even something like the ‘bathroom issue’.
You can be an gay and just not tell people who you don’t want to know and just be just as valid a member of society as before. No one really asks how straight you are when you’re just dealing with them normally. If the T wants to dress and act and be the opposite sex, than it’s a crapshoot. A 6’ 2” trans woman with a 5 o’clock shadow at 11 in the morning raises more eyebrows than the 5’ 8” trans dude who looks like a slightly effeminate but otherwise normal guy.
That’s why I feel for the T, it’s weird and complicated and no one can even agree on what is an T.

People with gender identities always use words like "existence" "lives" "safety" when arguing against the strawmen. As if when evil terfs are critical of the concept of gender, they're really saying that they hate THEM specifically and want them dead/ don't believe they "exist".
