Honestly, I see all these riots as deliberate distractions. The Wu Flu is turning out to be nothing more than a bad flu and people were starting to get upset over losing jobs, not being able to bury loved ones, being stuck under house arrest for months, and the economy (world wide) being destroyed because they overreacted to a virus. People were also starting to notice that the wealthiest 1% were making a ton of money off of the Wu Flu panic. Bezos with his Amazon deliveries and Gates with his vested interests in vaccines. Once the Republicans had armed protests, I think they got scared.

So, they turned to the old tried and true to distract us: race baiting. They want us to channel our anger at one another rather than the 1%. It is the "divide and conquer" strategy and it has been working for a long time. We're all so consumed by these riots that we've practically forgotten about Wu Flu. Suddenly, no one is in danger of killing Grandma or wiping out the human race simply by going outside. Now the "virus" we need to fear is racism. Now we can rage against each other instead of the people who have crushed our economies for years to come.

The strategy seems to be working brilliantly. We'll keep destroying our neighborhoods and killing each other while they sit in their gated communities and rest a little easier knowing the mob isn't coming with torches and pitchforks for them.

And the people that are tearing us apart need to die. The powers that be seem to believe they can act with impunity and Americans will forsake their birthright.

A very, very high percentage of corporations, companies, businesses and media outlets are 'speaking out' about the 'systemic racism' and celebrities are making cringy PSAs. The media spins a narrative favorable to their movement.

Most of the [Democratic] mayors and governors have done fuck-all about any of the various misbehavior on record, and some [along with their officers] are kneeling in submission or standing in solidarity. Silence is considered complicity.

Any reaction by police to a black man committing various crimes wantonly is now viewed as heinous, TV shows are getting canceled, statues torn down, people's careers are ruined if they dare denounce the burning of their cities.

These people don't make concessions. They're not interested in negotiation, talking it out, meeting halfway or any kind of give-and-take. Their ideology and worldview is not one that can coexist with any other because all the others are wrong and racist. Even thinking that perhaps it isn't a good idea to defund and disband law enforcement after watching numerous cities burn and be looted is now grounds for being denounced as a Nazi white supremacist. Even not having an opinion at all makes you a bigot and probably also a Nazi.

That's why it's wise not to concede, nor apologize, nor admit wrongdoing. You give an inch, they take a mile, they always have and likely always will. Groveling and meeting with them hasn't worked out too well. Infact I'd say the groveling and capitulation has only given them further reason to continue this nonsense. Any reasonably intelligent person wouldn't placate a five year old kid who's throwing a tantrum, even if it's world-class, you don't give in to the kid's demands because that only teaches them that throwing a tantrum will provide them with the desired result, thus you will have further tantrums. That was their first mistake and it is not paying out well for anyone except the agitators. That's part of the reason we see all of this narcissistic, wild entitlement. Because certain elements of society have been giving in to the tantrums for twenty years and trying to pave easy street for these people when really they should have been told to suck it up and get over it from the start.

Yep. But that is the nature of war. It makes monsters of us all. I got dropped into a civil war in Iraq for 14 months. There were no good guys. I despair at the thought of this happening here. But happen it may.

All political power is ultimately derived from the barrel of a gun. The people burning down our cities have forgotten this but the powers egging them on certainly have not. They just assume they are safe behind their own hired guns and smug self righteous superiority.

That's already happening. The Player's Tribune ran a story about a black player (Akim Aliu) a month ago where he alleges that racist coaches cost him his career.
