It's like Life Is Strange and Night In The Woods wrapped itself into a ball and somehow became worse. Why is Oxenfree the only game that manages to pull this shit off? Oxenfree actually built an atmosphere and the setting made sense as to why things would happen, whereas NITW and this garbage look like they're just cope in videogame form. Yeah high school sucks, cry more. Helps that Oxenfree had a really good soundtrack.

The only difference between this and NiTW that the later wasn't about even highschool crap. Hell, least that game had a brain to have characters be college-age and least in stage life DOES hit you pretty damn hard, unlike your typical highschool crap.

Take a better approach, have 'em say go on something like a Summer road trip. That way you can really go nuts with different locations, minigames, and other stuff.

Judging by the reaction to this game, the PS4's Knack would be a more successful launch title than this. Only ignorant people would buy this and the ones who haven't drank the SJW Koolaid would keep it.

That's a big shame actually. A VN game with actual animation, with a whole road trip concept and etc, it could have actually been something good. Hell, could probably play the whole "gay" angle with the leading character asking themselves during the whole trip if this thing is actually serious or if they're just having a typical phase.

NITW also had a unique art direction even though the artist was a piece of shit who helped literally bullycide his partner on the project. Furries fucking ate that game up and just like Undertale it got a Japanese release because of how Pixiv artists liked that game. It was also one of the few games to take place in a "small town America" setting even if it was preachy as shit.

This game doesn't even have that excuse. The fact that everyone is trying to redraw the characters speaks volumes because you only see that happen when there's a royal fuck-up like with the Sonic movie for instance.

At least there the filmmakers listened to feedback and fixed Sonic's design. Somehow I don't think the people behind this game are going to follow suit.

I'm surprised that some people are actually forgiving the writer, I mean shes Only just apologizing now and the way she wrote the article back then shows it's clear shes into that kinda creepy stuff she can't just play it off as "Oh I didn't know" either.

I'm confused about one thing tho, why wasn't there any charges or arrested for what she did I mean wouldn't what she did count as intentionally spreading CP and warrant some kind of legal action? I'm not familiar with Canadian laws so I'm not sure how it works over there.

Creativity wise the cloning issue is an even bigger issue than the SJW preachy game issue. Why play a clone of a classic game when you can play the original in your favorite emulator?

Pretty much this. Throwbacks/clones are more a response to filling in a void, as in, those games literally don't exist anymore. But they are very easy to find thanks to emulation. We never needed Mighty No. 9 because all 3 dozen Mega Man games are within a 5 second searches reach. Super Metroid doesn't require yet another Metroidvania. Every 8-bit platformer that has ever existed is all over the Internet and cannot be erased.

It's fine to do something unique with it like Bloodstained or Shovel Knight, but when the entire Greenlight marketplace is flooded with 16 bit platformers and twee Earthbound clones, everybody is just getting lazy and saturating the scene.

Believe it or not, there are A LOT of normies that reminisce about their high school days and wish they could go back and relive them. Mainly because their life as an adult sucks and back then they had a bajillion friends and not a care in the world.

Or you wish you just could go back and avoid making all your mistakes, like hitting one giant 'reset' button and playing the game better. Don't be a perv, go outside more, be the smartest kid in school because you can ace the easier classes, score higher on the SAT...

A lot of people have that wish. The problem is that a lot of people also don't care about what anybody did in high school (unless they killed someone) or even remember a lot of it. So it's more a problem with the individual and their own self-image. You're supposed to make mistakes when you're a teenager. That's how you learn. A New Game+ wouldn't really fix anything.

The dev team said that she was non binary, which if my memory on alphabet ramblings doesn't fail me, it's actually the opposite of what you described: a lack of gender. This is also reinforced on the VA of the character also being non binary (to both the VA and the character look like daddy issue lesbians that probably beat their partners) and that the dev team said they where making the characters whatever gender or sexuality the dev team also had.
