2 parts.

1) Legally? I think it should absolutely be their right to refuse service. (For a reason I'll explain shortly.) Ethically? Well that's another discussion and a deeper one.

2) Now, as I recall, there is a term out there for forcing someone to work against their will. It started with an "s." I think some of the black workers in that photo might be able to help you find it if you're drawing a blank.

Only quibble with the cashier would be that the cashier is working for someone higher up. So it's the higher-up's choice on serving someone. (As working there, part of your agreement is to do what the boss says. If the cashier objects, they can quit etc.)

Bill Maher and the rest of his pathetic kind deserve no sympathy or respect from anyone. They didn't even try to change with the times, and they're making everything worse for it.

Way, way long ago, comedians like Maher were actually speaking truth to power. They were standing up to censorship and overreach, and they had problem thumbing their nose at the prudes. This was especially true during the Bush years, when The Daily Show and Politically Incorrect were the only places that were actually talking about everything that was going wrong.

Then, they all got big fucking heads because Obama effectively used them to help himself win the election. They almost immediately went from being comedians to being propagandists. People started noticing that problems were growing in the left at least 7 years ago, but all you would get from Maher and the rest were shit-eating sneers and snark. They were so wrapped up in their own smug self-satisfaction that they either didn't notice that they were turning into the thing they hated, or they just didn't fucking care. All those assholes from the Daily Show so easily turned into the kind of person they were parodying that it's disgusting.

Now, they're all desperately trying to pretend that it's still the 2000s, where Bush is still in office and they're still the good guys. They have to treat Trump like a monster because treating a Republican president like a monster is what made them big names. Meanwhile, everyone around them is wielding censorship and cancel culture like ogre clubs and screaming the most deranged and insidious shit imaginable. Even if they are smart enough to realize what's happening around them, they sure as Hell don't have the backbone to stand up to it.

The only person I can think of who's more pathetic than the late night comedy clique is Michael Moore, and he hangs out with them enough to be considered a part of them anyway.

I'm black and part of the reason I find left wing loonies to be more dangerous is that the left doesn't know how to deal with its crazies as well as the right. Some people may say the right doesn't deal with its loonies well, and maybe so, but it's miles ahead of the left.

You have loonies on the right calling for segregation. But they're marginalized and people know they're crazy. But on the left you have mainstream colleges with minority only safe spaces. That's de facto segregation.

You also have have loonies on the right espousing white supremacy. Well on the left you have the concept of white privilege, which says that it's always more advantageous to be white than black. The idea that you'd rather be a poor white person than a rich black person is a white supremacist idea.

This is mainstream and accepted on the left. Those holding extreme ideas encompass about 5% of the right, but at least 50% of the left. Yet the entire mainstream right gets judged by the ideas of the fringe while the dangerous ideas of the mainstream left are apparently fine, even though they're often the same as the fringe right!?

The right got so zealous at rooting out its own extremists that said extremists got siegepilled, fully convinced everyone else in society is in on the conspiracy to keep the self-respecting white man down.

The media would've ran interference with the WH, saying there's nothing going on. The media would also say if you think something is going on, you're a conspiracy theorist. The rumors would spread from china to Social Media. Once covid reached america, the same types of videos we saw in china would appear. The Social Media platforms would try and censor these posts.
