There is, but it hasn't been updated in a long time (long before the Tumblr subforum), so a new thread sounds like a good idea. There are a lot of lolcows in that community, especially fictionkin.

I remember a while back, Tumblr suddenly decided Markiplier was a misogynistic woman-beater over something he said in a video. Basically, all he said was that if a woman attacks a man, he should be able to defend himself and not hold back just because his attacker is female. He went on to say that he'd prefer that people just not hurt each other in general. Obviously, there's nothing wrong with either of these statements, but Tumblr went ballistic, accusing him of beating women, harassing him, and sending him death threats. Eventually, they bullied the poor guy until he came out and talked about how he was abused by a girlfriend of his. That stopped some of them, but others started ranting about how men can't be abused, and women can't be abusers. This is actually pretty typical of Tumblr...

There was also that incident where someone claimed they had been sexually harassed by Mark over Snapchat, when they had been the one to send him their nudes again and again even after he asked to stop. He's apparently the bad guy in the end. He may not be everyone's cup of tea - which is a-okay - but he's the nicest of the Gamer YouTubers I've seen out there. The guy has been doing charity streams for a few years and he has worked his ass off every single day to provide free content for his fans to the point he's exhausted himself physically and mentally. Apparently that's not good enough because he's a dirty cishet young man who is incredibly popular and successful with his YouTube career. It'll be a damn shame the day these SJWs do manage to chase him off of Timblr just like they've chased others off.

Tumblr just really loves to shit on genuinely nice, if even successful, people. They feel compelled to dig up dirt, and when they can't find anything they'll make shit up. This has been happening for a few years now that it's unfortunately become the norm. You have to be very careful what you post on there, like what you do for a living (especially if you happen to make it big as an artist), or else someone who doesn't like you will do all this bullshit to drag you down. You cannot make it on there as an artist, as sad as that is.

I think if you shoplift over $100 they can slap you with a felony, not to mention that theft and dishonestly misdemeanors will also bar you from a lot of jobs and apartments. Your 100 dollar makeup is literally dirt and industrial byproducts, it costs $100 because it's a luxury product for women.
So much of this stuff is so worthless that if it's not sold it's destroyed. It'd be funny to take one of their $1000 hauls and show them where the same junk can be had for $100 online.

Real boosters who aren't just degenerate kleptos do things like steal entire racks of razor blades. They'll send in juveniles who won't get a serious record, or drug addicts who already have a record and don't give a shit, smash open the theft deterrent system, steal everything in it and bolt. Since employees generally aren't going to interfere, they'll just shove anyone out of their way when they escape. Similarly, high ticket but portable items not ordinarily secured get stolen en masse a lot.

When you see really good prices on brand name razor blades and the like on Amazon, as often as not, they're stolen.

THere is a difference between shoplifting and pirating.
Pirating involves a DIGITAL COPY, which can be made in 3 seconds for free.
making physical goods cost money to manufacture and export. unless you have a portable clone machine, you're stealing priced goods.

Posting it online and creating a community around it and also around the obsessive "row row fight da powah" stuff is idiotic. They might not think they're harming anybody by stealing from chain retail, but don't some of those stores take inventory? And don't the employees get punished if numbers don't match up? Big companies have a loss prevention department -ie, security. If something's damaged, it can be accounted for, so they're usually concerned with shoplifting.

Loss Prevention has a threshold for acceptable shrinkage (Gravity is a thing, and the store is not a fortress, they get that), after which they start coming down on the employees. I used to work for a company that actually had a "test store", a fake store where they set up displays to maximize visual appeal and minimize opportunities for shoplifters. I imagine they'd be interested in reading all about how these merry shoplifters rob them, but it's probably nothing new to them.

Interesting. So if losses go past a certain threshold, then it's logical to assume it's because of a shoplifting problem and then thats when they get mad at employees, huh?
