I had a bunch of coprolite as a child amongst other small fossils. The great-grandfather cut a thin cross-section and polished it enough so that the slice was semi-translucent in places. These stones are fairly common and make for interesting craft projects. Image is of a generic example: 6ADD4D15-12A4-4974-886A-E4DA6A0C0649.jpeg

That poop looks better than the ones on etsy. Question is, was the dino vegetarian?

What was posted on etsy is uncut and unaltered but if you were to crack them open like in my example you’d find vibrant reds and blues. As a child I had both kinds and at six the knobbiness of what looked like bubbles trapped in stone was far more fascinating than the one my great-grandad cut.

I’m sure someone more knowledgable could explain how it is you’re able to tell the animal’s diet from a rock. I assume it has to do with the presence of bone shards which I am sure would make it more valuable to someone that cares.

So, I don't know if this is a worldwide phenomenon or just one here, but people are making jewelry from those Nescafé capsule coffee machines and it's the most ugly shit I've seen in a while.

These things here:

The ones that haven't been painted on are surprisingly not horrible..the texture, which was probably accidental, is kind of like a rose or a morning glory. If they were only using the ones that come out looking fairly symmetrical like these ones? I don't think this would be that bad.

Those are not exactly well crafted, kind of lazy even. Here is a whole page of nicer-looking ones.

I agree, those are nicer-looking per se, but for some reason I still find them horrible. Maybe the whole idea of capsule-coffee (because of the waste it creates, I can't say much about the taste) is already making me shudder and tainting all the DIY products made with it.

I was searching around in a couple of places online for ideas on how to shape a mould for a set of concrete bookends and I stumbled across someone producing fairly impressive busts. This one of Jordan Peterson stood out because there are likely people out there that have this man's face ornamenting their home which I almost find upsetting.

I can't stop laughing at this one. He looks like he's about to bomb a library.

Hedgehogs in costume is actually a pretty big thing. It's about all you can do with them; they're not good pets. There are many Instagram accounts where Japanese women felt elaborate costumes for their hogs, stick them on the spikes, and let the hog run around.
