Careercow Chuck Wendig / Charles Wendig / TerribleMinds - Terrible author, terrible person, ruined Internet Archive's online library

I present to you: Morgan's Oger. A transwoman who literally started a bullshit charity called the Oger Foundation to try and narc on anyone for noticing he is a man.

He isn't as destructive as Wendig because he's too stupid to be successful, but Chuck looks more like the type you'd wedgy so hard his underwear elastic would wrap around his head.

I think it would get a better response from him too. Punching's a man's game. He is a soyboy.
Ogre doesn't have a face that deserves a punch.

He has a face that deserves sustained pummeling from a Louisville Slugger.

I found another screenshot sample of Chuck “The Cuck” Wendig’s writing and it’s soooo fucking bad. Honestly, how was this bearded muppet ever a professional author?

And just think while you read this excerpt — his ego was elevated so dramatically by being published that he had the fucking audacity to criticize Tolkien as if he was his peer.
"Herkily-Jerkily"
wtf?

I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to write in all caps to represent screaming in professional novels? It really *does* feel like I'm reading fan fiction. I would find this endearing if it weren't a published book in a major franchise that people were expected to pay money for.
You actually aren’t; you only use caps if you’re transcribing signs or text on computer screens etc. Using it anywhere else is distracting and causes the reader to draw his eyes to the all caps words before the beginning of the prose.

Vintage software on their site (archive.org) will probably be next. Best to take what you need before that happens.

Isn't there legal precedent regarding abandonware that allows for it to be distributed for free online? I seem to recall Home of the Underdogs and other sites being able to offer software because of that, but I may be wrong.

I really think at this point "herkily-jerkily" needs to be incorporated into the thread title, somehow.

He sadly and awkwardly attempts to emulate better writers who can get away with just making up words. He does it in a herkily jerkily manner because he does not know how to adverb.

Nope. There is absolutely nothing preventing a copyright holder from completely abandoning their work for the entirety of the term then suing everyone who ever infringed it on the last possible day.

Other than the equitable doctrine of laches and lol, good luck with that as a defense.

I've seen vintage games and not-so-vintage software get DMCA'd off the site before by companies that send out DMCAs en masse. Case in point, I've seen new versions of expensive software get DMCA'd and some Japanese gamedevs will DMCA uploads of their games as well.

Japan is really good when it comes to enforcing copyright as their copyright law is not the same as America's. They're one of the most aggressive countries when it comes to enforcing it. Companies that don't are often seen as heroes of their respected communities, such as Capcom and their Megaman series being redone by fans.

There's a good reason why they (the original site) and gamehippo are gone.

saw this the other day and was surprised he didn't include the phrase "herkily-jerkily":

it's a decade old, though. wait, now it's a 404. did he (herkily-jerkily derpity-doopity) delete it because his descriptions of vadges and dongs were being (justifiably) mocked?
