Elvis himself never denied being influenced by the great black singers of the time. The charitable part of me thinks that this non-profit is just a bunch of lefties using this as a resume booster, who suddenly fell into $35 million dollars and now have no idea what to do with it. They probably don't have the staff and resources to responsibly disburse the money, as they presumably actually talk with the people they're bailing out and do some due diligence to make sure they're not letting serial rapists back on the streets.

This mess is still hilarious though, as they're going to get torn apart by the Twitter mob regardless.

It's a claim of collective guilt made in the face of inequality of outcome. Since equality of outcome is a ridiculous thing to complain about, and since guilt can't be collective, you should be skeptical.

Such claims are intentionally vague so the listener/believer can fill in the meaning. It has no real meaning.
