Yeah I know damn well that dual wielding is a bit useless but I do it just for fun and it can make some interesting combos.

Playing Papers, Please while drunk is not a good idea. Arstotzka has zero tolerance for drunk delinquency.

Just finished beating the first mini-boss in Earthbound. I'm on my way to Giant Step now to beat the first Sanctuary Guardian.
Boy, are you in for a ride!

Me, I'm trying to git gudd at Skullgirls again (or at last?)

Just downloaded the HD version of Grim Fandango on my laptop. Seeing as it was done by some of the same people who did Psychonauts.

Yet another game that came out when I was a kid that I never got around to up until recently. So far, I really like the art style and the writing is pretty solid. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of the way some adventure games work, but I can look past the inherent annoyances the genre has in order to enjoy this game.

Playing Mortal Kombat X right now on PS4. Waiting for a "Complete Edition" before I buy it on PC (Steam).
Trying regain my Sonya Blade skills from MK9 as most of her kombo strings are different now, which I'm not complaining about its nice to get something new with each game.

Unlike Japanese fighting games where characters have almost the same exact animations and moves for 5 games in a row...MK will totally change most of the moves and button press kombos a character had from the previous game.

Really liking the new character design for her as well.

Still playing Xenblade 3D. I made it to Eryth Sea and I'm rather overpowered from doing every quest as I can.

It's quite viable in 2, but yeah, pretty shit in 1 unless you're using a riposte weapon, and even then it's mostly a PvP thing.

Back to playing some Sunless Sea, game has fucking atmosphere:

Looks really good. It's on sale right now, but only 20% off. Oh well, it stays on the wishlist a little while. Is it as good as it looks?

(It has a kind of FTL meets Lovecraft meets steampunk look to it and I'm a huge FTL fan.)

If you played FTL, I would recommend it. Have you played Fallen London, by any chance? It's a free to play prequel in the same setting, I'd recommend checking that out to get a sense for the setting and the feel (which is kind of difficult to describe)

It's really atmospheric and beautifully written (quite possibly the best written game I've ever played, tbh), but it's also kind of slow and grindy, especially near the beginning. They couldn't decide if they wanted to make a story-driven RPG or a roguelike, so it ended up borrowing some of the weaker elements of both here and there. But the problems I have with it are pretty minor.

Since the new season of Game of Thrones started, I've been playing more Crusader Kings II with the ASoIF mod on. Trying to enjoy as much of that as I can before the next update kills the mod for three months.

I wish a Redbox around here had a copy of Mortal Kombat X for me to try since it looks really fun. I was considering buying it but I remember what happened with MK9 where I got it, played it hard for about two weeks, and then got really bored with it.

Neat! I have the original version on Wii. Do you know if the new 3ds remake has more content or improved graphics (other than the obvious addition of 3d)?

I think they give you quite a bit more to do this time, a really cool old school RPG like krypt, many towers, daily tower challenges, faction bosses, etc. and of course the excellent 5+ hr story mode. I think unlike MK9 it will be a while before I try my hand online though so if you're interested in that I can't really speak to it yet.

It's just a port of the Wii version with bonus features like a music player and a model thing. Visually, they had to cut corners so it didn't look as good. Still, if you compared both versions, they look pretty alike. It still has all the aspects that makes it stand out from other RPGs. The only other thing they cut out is the Japanese voices. I still recommend playing this especially if you like to play it on the go. They did a good job on the port.

Thanks for the info :) I'm dissapointed that even with this "New" 3Ds the hardware is still so weak (really it can't handle a wii game?!). I have both a 3dsXL and PS Vita and its just insane how much more powerful the 2011 vita is. Of course power doesn't always mean fun games, and I really do enjoy my 3ds.

I don't know if having a portable Xenoblade is worth dumping my 2013 bought 3dsxl and paying another $200 for but knowing that its at least a decent port makes it something to buy down the road. :)
