This is more like a cult than a religion as far as BLM goes and the base for this type of thought has been there for a long time since the 1960s, its just grown because nobody challenged it even during the McCarthy era. And right wingers don't stick around in academia but go to DC thinktanks, which have proven to be useless as they all turned into neocons. There is giant rot on both sides and all of society.

There is no God figure, no holy book that must be obeyed of some kind and no redemption which makes me believes its more of a cult like Jonestown or the guys in San Diego that committed suicide.

They'll argue "Home-schooling is just an outlet for white supremacists to raise their children and indoctrinate them with their racist and bigoted beliefs. All children should be in state run schools to ensure they aren't being taught wrong-think"

This actually kicked off decades ago, when public schools got taken over by ideologues, who then got pissy that home schoolers didn't have to use their prescribed books on sex ed, evolution, revisionist American history, etc. There were actually parts of Bush's No Child Left Behind program that got co-opted by them, trying to backdoor that indoctrination through testing or school board review of home school materials.

This is why conservatives never should've abandoned public schools in the first place. Scurrying away in defeat to your private schools (already claimed by poz) and homeschooling puts you in the weaker position, where it's easier for the left to get you.

Unfortunately, right-wingers have lolbertarian brain worms telling them public institutions are inherently evil because GUBMINT BAD and thus not worth saving, probably put into their heads by controlled oppo "conservative" media working for liberal elites in the first place.
