The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Dawn of the Dead used a mall as the setting and showed how even that can go horribly wrong.

Yeah, the one critical downside of a mall is that you have to make sure EVERY SINGLE potential entry point is covered or otherwise you're just as likely to get trapped with no way out. And god help you if the weight of zombies trying to get in causes those big glass windows on the exterior to break and make new entrances.

To be fair, there's VERY VERY few people like Druckman in anything approaching mainstream entertainment. Most of them are very fringe artists who produce low budget pretentious trash and indie shlock. It might be the first time the gaming world is exposed to such things and probably the last. People have given me 'optimistic' ratings that I said this would end his career and no joke, this will do it.
Nah, there's plenty of shit like that in gaming. It's mostly either on places like Steam, back in the day the 5 dollar bin at Wal-Mart or Target, or one of those borderline ancient PC titles that you see occasionally at Goodwill.

It's always existed, it just never was a triple-A title produced by a triple-A studio before.

The ending of TLOU 2 feels like this.
There’s an old meme about it:

I had the spoilers come up at a local fgc thing. Outside of the one guy that follows DSP happenings they’re a fairly normy bunch, and most of them started trashing it without any prompting with people bringing up Abby looking like a troon and the Senator Armstrong jokes. There was only one guy that didn’t seem put off and was insisting that the story doesn’t matter if the gameplay is good; as if TLoU wasn’t a mechanically dry game carried by good acting.
We’ see his reaction in a few days I guess.

Could have made any character a Jew but it's the one with the huge honker. Purposefully enlargened so that's the first thing you notice. Muh subverted stereotypes :story:
It's because they unironically think huge honking nose=jew

people bitching about her nose are just disliking her "Jew face" and therefore are anti semetic apparently

My first move is to the closest mall, stuff the door ways with all the unsold furniture from Sears/Macy's. Religious shit can wait while I set up my Mall safe zone.

Like for real, Malls are the perfect place to turn into a full on habitat/base of operations. Lots of room, numerous stores with supplies and food court with provisions. Plenty of weapons, even if its subpar mall ninja shit, too and that's not factoring in a Dick's sporting goods which has guns and ammo.

Sorry, I like thinking up zombie apoc situations hah

Honestly, Malls are great for supply points. But guess what? Every fucker else knows this too. So good luck with that.

Your better bet would be either an isolated farm or cabin, or a castle, or surprisingly a prison once cleared of its previous occupants.

All of these are significantly more defendable than a Mall. Just because it looks a bit like a fortress doesn't mean it is. Malls are horrible places to try and defend with zero windows to look out of, multiple entry and exit points and a near infinite number of emergency exits which are (in theory) hard to block off due to fire regulations.

I refuse to believe we don't have the leak of the ending yet. Dozens of pics of the game already floating around, some turbo autistic must already have finished the game after 30 hours without sleeping and drinking a monster energy every 20 minutes. C'mon, where is the ending?

Or everybody who got the game early gave up on it after the golf scene? If that's the case I can understand, it's really tough to continue the game after those first 2 hours.

Do they actually get to play it early or is the game locked until Friday morning?

I've bought only digital for a long time, so I honestly don't know this.

Apparently some were sent psychical copies early (or atleast the one who did a part one of his playthrough on youtube said it arrived early)

If Joel died at the end, ND would at least have all of Friday to hope for no word of mouth in a 30 hour runtime.

It happened so early though that people will be streaming it by 3 AM Eastern. So by Friday morning, it will be all over Twitch.

If Joel died at the very end it could've helped to to delay the potential backlash, but it seems Druckman really wanted to get Joel out of the way as soon as possible, just to introduce his new pet character

I love seeing the trophy percentages for games to see how far people get into it. Like Death Stranding. Looking at the trophy list, first 1, "Delivering Is What I Do". 97.3% of people who have played the game got it. You just have to beat the prologue. In sinking city, the first trophy that isn't optional, 80.7%. Too many people just buy stuff wothout ever playing it.

I blame steam. Something like 27% of games bought are played.

Only god knows how many games on Steam have overweeningly positive scores, but at the same time, going by the achievements stats, only like 10% bothered to beat the final boss

What the fuck is even the point of a TV show when the game is basically a movie and the plot of the original is basically The Road + Generic Zombie Cliches? If Mazin was working on anything I'd rather him be working on a TV adaptation of Blood Meridian than this shit.

Because a lot of normies are just too lazy to pick up a gamepad and play a videogame, what would make games like The Last Of Us, Uncharted or God Of War 2018 even better? by being no games at all, it is what people have been wanting for over a decade
