So I had nearly caught up to the thread - being only about 200 pages behind at this point, and I was getting MATI enough that I felt called to action. Particularly, I wanted to see if there was any opportunity to push back against this wave of people being fired and kicked out of colleges over their milquetoast opposition to BLM. So I go to the website for the Republican Party to see if there's a local meeting or any scheduled activism, and what do I find?
I find that the Republican Party is too busy cancelling their own people over their anti-BLM statements to help protect their constituents from losing their jobs over the same thing.
Hello,
I am a Republican voter in Texas. I have donated to various Republican candidates in the last several elections and posted campaign posters in my yard, but haven’t been actively involved in much political activity. The past few days have motivated me to look for opportunities to do something to advance conservative ideas and find ways to speak back against the blatantly false narratives that have been pushed by leftist propagandists. Particularly, I’ve been concerned about the leftist tactic of finding offensive posts on social media – or even posts that aren’t offensive, but speak counter to the leftist narrative on race and policing – tracking down the identities of those posters, and working to get them fired, kicked out of their colleges, or any other form of social ostracization they can think of to ruin that person’s life.
I have been thinking about how this leftist trend toward ruining the lives and careers of people on the right of the political spectrum is a threat to the ideals of our country, our freedoms as Americans, and even our ability to survive as a civilization. I went to the Republican Party of Texas’ website today, looking to see what opportunities there were for political activism – only to see that the Republican Party of Texas is involved in precisely the same sort of cancel culture destruction of a person’s life that motivated me to turn here in the first place in their rush to try and silence Cynthia Brehm. I’ve looked into her comments, and they seem like wild speculation. They seem unhelpful. I’d even call them incendiary and stupid. However, there’s no real world consequences to any person from those statements, while there are real world consequences to the cowardly Republican demand issued by James Dickey that Cynthia Brehm step down from her position. A person losing their position is a real world consequence. Hearing a stupid idea isn’t.
Republican voices are systematically and aggressively being chased out of the public sphere. Twitter users are being banned. College students are having their acceptance into college revoked. Companies are sending out letters telling their employees that any message they share on social media challenging the Black Lives Matter narrative will get them fired. Having a Republican make a stupid comment may turn off some voters – but actively contributing to a culture that not only silences conservative voices, but actively punishes anyone who dares voice conservative ideals will not only ultimately end the Republican party, it will effectively criminalize it.
I do not see any reason to support an organization working to bring about its own destruction. I would like to protect my ability to speak about my priorities, my ideals, my political beliefs, but I see no reason to believe that the Republican party, the organization that is engaging in the same cancel culture tactics (against its own party members, to boot!) is able or willing to defend my rights. The left is working tirelessly to make sure that Republicans are unemployed and unemployable. And by what I’ve seen on your website, you’re more than happy to help them. I am disappointed and disgusted.
I guess I’m going to go look at the Libertarian Party’s website…

You should be ashamed for promoting this culture of fear.
You all should resign. I’ve never heard of Cynthia before, hadn’t heard of her until I visited the website today, but at least she had the guts to stand by her ideals. I was pretty proud to come to a state that proudly proclaimed, ‘Don’t Mess With Texas,’ but y’all sure don’t live up to that motto. It’d be more accurate to say, ‘Please Tell Us Which Boot to Lick.’
Then, as I'm there in my email, I notice that a message from the library has been sent to my spam folder, so I pull that up, wondering what it is.
My suburban, Republican city is sending out anti-racist reading lists on their official library email.
The reading list is:
-How to be an AntiRacist by Ibram X. Kendi,
-White Fragility by Robin Diangelo
-Biased: Uncovering the hidden Prejudice that Shapes What We See, Think and Do by Jennifer Eberhardt
-So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo
-Between the World and Me by Tanehisi Coates
-Me and White Supremacy by Layla F. Saad
-Just Mercy: Adapted for Young Adults by Bryan Stevenson
-Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi
and Woke Baby (a picture book for children) - by Mahogany L. Brown.
I'm going to be putting on my Karen hat later today and calling every member of my city council today to see whether they approve of their tax-payer funded library engaging in partisan politics.
Guess I should count myself lucky nothing crazy happened. God only knows I don't need another 1500 pages to go through, when I get back to where I was at page 1000. I was originally planning on posting only when I got to the current page, but when it took me several hours just to go through the highlights? Nah, I'm good with posting here, for now.

The Republican party is not just inept, not even just worthless, it is actively working against its constituents. The powers in the GOP are rootless economic robber barons and DC insiders, both of whom are only even in the party to use it as a vehicle to enrich and empower themselves. They hate their base, disdain, and mock their constituents. Leaving the party just gives them what they want. They were happy losers under McCain, Romney, and even the Bushes. The fact that a man like Trump could stroll in and sideline them shows that its possible, and the base is hungry to shake off these parasites.
In times of chaos like this, change comes quicker and from more directions than expected. The Libertarian party will be no better than the GOP. Half the reason we are in as much trouble as we are is because the libertarian wing of the right has spent the past 5 decades sitting out or outright surrendering the culture war while social conservatives fought on their own and lost.
Richmond, Virginia demographics, btw:
So, yeah, nice blood libel there. "He was wearing a MAGA cap and draped in the American flag!" Get the fuck outta here.
That was reported by Fatima Pashaei, whose husband is Virginia Secretary of Education Atif Qarni, who was appointed by Ralph Northam. Of course these lying islami snakes are in our own government, creating racial animosity out of their own hatred of white people and Americans.
Her friend who was with was Betsy Milburn of Richmond:
That is the face of an abject lunatic.
VA Secretary of Education Atif Qarni: How Local School Boards Can Address Inequities, Disparities in Education for Communities of Color and Truly Make “Black Lives Matter”
It’s encouraging to see people of all backgrounds and colors stepping up to speak out against systemic racism and injustices in our society. While it is important for people from outside of the Black community to rally for and support “Black Lives Matter,” true changes will only occur if policies and practices are reviewed and revised to support this claim. At the very local level, this starts with our city councils, board of supervisors, and school boards.
At this time in our country, people in power need to step up and use their positions of influence to effect positive change for communities of color. Now is the time to inventory the damage that our systems have wrought, and invest in changes that help the Black community not just survive, but heal and thrive.
As a local elected official, you have significant power to dismantle systems of oppression, which may include policies, practices, or processes that negatively impact the lives of Black people or people of color. This may seem like a daunting task, but the first step is actually a simple one. Look at your budget. Your budget reflects your values and where you are investing your resources. Ask yourself this question: Do these investments help the Black community in a meaningful way? Don’t look at your budget from the perspective of “all” – we have been doing this for too long and it’s not been working. If you need help understanding the needs of the Black community, reach out to the community and solicit input.
As I reflect on how I can take actionable steps to address inequities and disparities in education for communities of color, I want to offer some ideas for school board members across the Commonwealth to consider:
Change school names and mascots that are offensive or that memorialize confederate leaders or sympathizers. The state does not have control over this, but localities do. The offensive names have a traumatizing impact on the psyche of our children, families, teachers and staff of color.
Review and revamp your code of conduct and disciplinary policies to make them less punitive. These antiquated policies have had the most severe impact on our children of color because there is implicit and explicit bias that is factored into these practices and policies.
Review your school boundaries. Some of our most diverse and Democratic-controlled locales have the most gerrymandered school districts where the district lines for the “best schools” are drawn to include affluent families (vs. non-affluent families) and single-family homes (vs. multifamily housing). If the quality of your education is based on the color of your neighborhood or income bracket, then we have to identify that for what it is—segregation by color and class.
Review your local grading policies. Many grades are not based solely on content knowledge – they can include behavior, participation and other subjective measures, which can place students of color at a distinct disadvantage. Antiquated grading policies have had the most severe impact on our children of color. There are research-based grading structures that I highly recommend school divisions consider, which are fair and remove bias from the equation.
Review the demographics of your teachers and staff, administrators, directors, associate superintendents and superintendents and compare that with the demographics of the students served. From my visits across the Commonwealth, it’s glaringly obvious that large disparities exist. Fix your hiring practices and make them fair for people of color. I hate to say this, but it was easier for me to become the Virginia Secretary of Education for our state than to become a local school administrator. If you are having problems with finding diverse applicants, invest in recruiting efforts at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Hispanic Serving Institutions.
Make it mandatory for all educators and staff to attend Professional Development on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. These trainings are generally well attended by people of color but since they are not mandatory, the target audience is not receiving this much needed training.
There are many more actionable steps to take, but I think this is a good place to start. Now, let’s get to work.
My name is Atif Qarni. I teach 8th Grade Civics. This year, in addition to teaching 8th grade civics, I am also teaching one class of 6th grade U.S. History.
He also was a teacher who taught Civics and US History to middle school kids. I wonder what kind of history this anti-American, anti-White jerk was teaching?
“Virginia Democrats claim to fight for ethics reform, represent working-class people and lead a big-tent party, yet they groom and recruit mostly white, Christian, male candidates,” Qarni wrote at the time. “A party that prides itself on being inclusive can be very exclusive.”
Too many whites and Christians in America! We need more Pakistanis in office, I'm sure that'll work out just fine, it's not like they'll urge pogroms against whites and Christians, no sir, that'd never happen. *fast forward 5 years to Pakistani politician creating blood libels against whites to rally pogroms against them*

ah but you see, the List of Approved Books also serves the purpose of showing what crap the library is carrying and makes you wonder, although some of the titles are enlightening:
How to be an Antiracist: don't let black people be misled into rioting, if they behave like animals they'll be treated as animals
White Fragility: react, don't let them riot
The Prejudice of Shapes: I blame the octagon for everything
So you want to talk about race? - sure, one is better and one looks like monkeys
Between the World and Me: ???
Me and White Supremacy: nice, now we can do it openly?
Just Mercy: eh too late to say that, you behaved as monkeys
Stamped: Racism, Antiracism and you: nice, people will get race stamps on their id's now?
Also the names of the authors:
Ibram X. Kendi who wrote 2 books seems like somebody who should be always randomly checked before boarding a plane
what is an "Ijeoma Oluo"? it sounds like some medical problem, like a weird eyelid infection
and a "Ta-Nehisi Coates"??? an Arab sauce?
looks like someone was very angry with the babies when they were born but imho giving the children weird names just because the mother was a whore is not fair
also "Mahogany Brown" looks like a joke. I mean, it's borderline racist: - name? mahogany brown. - Look, I didn't say that, I am not trying to insult you, I am asking just for your name. idk but "mahogany brown" is like calling someone "Guido Wop" or "Kraut Hun", not very polite.
Gee, I wonder why you don't call cops. Could it be because crime is so low? I WONDER WHY CRIME IS SO LOW COULD IT BE THERE'S SOMETHING STOPPING PEOPLE FROM COMMITTING CRIMES?
Not to alarm anyone, but Saturday June 20, 2020 is the Summer Solstice. At best there will be lots of pagan cosplayers out skipping around being cringey. At worst... well some cultures made the solstice their big human sacrifice night. Hmm. Saturday is the 6th day. June is the 6th month. 20 2020. That's a lot of numbers. Yup sure is.

Dude, if BLM constructed a giant ziggurat in the middle of minneapolis where floyd died and proceeded to ritualistically tear the hearts from their devoted white yuppie subjects as blood sacrifice, it would highly improve my opinion of them

Unless this person is greatly underreporting their awards, something stinks about that medal list. Namely having a CAR without a campaign medal (Iraq/Afghanistan). While it may be possible, it would require him to get into a fire fight first day in country, get hit and removed from country, and there is no purple heart listed. Campaigns change all the time, as theater objectives change, I got 3 campaign ribbons from 1 stint in Afghanistan at one point.

A Person Who Daren’t Write Her Name in Case Y’all Decide to Cancel Me.

Fun fact: The Arthur Ashe statue in Richmond, VA has been vandalized before, by BLM protestors, due to the fact that the had no idea who the hell he was.
Another fun fact: The statue honestly looks like a monument to a man who stole a book from a bunch of children then proceeded to beat them with a tennis racket.
Other local interpretations include the suggestion that he's beating them so that they'll read better.
As to your spoiler: That is what you get when you don't put down the pre-tending of childhood when you're supposed to be a maturing adult. The furries are adults who've never taken off their Halloween costume from when they were 7. I say 7 cuz kids begin to develop an understanding of irony around 8.
