Connor admitted that the stories he posted on WP about his parents being abusive were false and that he posted them for sympathy/asspats. Because of this I'm inclined to believe that the one class thing was Connor's idea rather than his parent's. I'm guessing his parents got sick of him hanging around the house and jerking off all day, and told him to either go to school or get a job and this is Connor's compromise. It fits with Connor's extensive history of doing the bare minimum.

Unless Connor gets some volunteer work under his belt, his job prospects are gonna consist of working at McDonalds and Vector marketing schemes.

If he was willing to get a little bit of exercise in by walking, it's likely that he could pull some gigs from Craigslist helping people move or helping with clerical stuff. There are also usually farmer's markets and such in need of booth people on weekends this time of year.

None of that looks special on a resume, but compared to blank space anything is a plus.

If I remember correctly, you didn't miss much. It was mostly
Connor Bible
1995-2015 existed

The end.

He did employers the favour of saying that he had "no work experience". Most people prefer to leave their weaknesses or knowledge gaps implicit, but Connor went to the trouble of spelling it out! What a great guy, hire him!

Makes you wonder if he's actually learning to drive to help his grandma run errands or any of the other positive changes he said he'd implement.

For anyone wondering why @Connor keeps coming back and making grandiose promises that are never followed through (emphasis mine):

What is Narcissistic Supply?

Light's House said:
Simply put, narcissistic supply is anything (or anyone) that feeds the narcissist’s ego and keeps them artificially pumped up with the attention, admiration and deference of others.

Narcissists need attention (and sometimes pity) and want complete agreement with their wishes. They ignore or oppose people who refuse to supply them with these things, and they turn their attention instead to those who can offer these three things in unlimited supply.

The narcissist’s constant fishing for attention/compliments, perhaps for pity, and for deference to their wishes will continue and keep increasing as long as the person they are feeding on does not oppose too strongly or too resolutely.

Typically, at some point sooner or later, the person being used as a source of narcissistic supply will recognize that the narcissist is asking a lot more than they are actually offering in return, and will start to resist. When they start to resist, the narcissist will become displeased, and attempt to manipulate, tantrum or wheedle their way back into feeding position.

To avoid becoming a target of a narcissist’s attempts to use you for supply, limit your contact with them, set firm boundaries, ask for reciprocity, don’t flatter them, don’t say yes too often, and remember — an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Turn down invitations from people who seem to need your praise, attention, pity or obedience.

TL;DR - He keeps coming back because people keep giving him what he wants. Once he gets the attention and pity he desires, he has no reason or incentive to follow through with what he has promised to do, because he knows that he can just throw a tantrum, disappear for a few days, come back with a new round of promises and get attention again. He's done it on every other forum he's touched, and he's doing it here.

Connor's resume that he uploaded here got wiped out in that big purge awhile back. I never got to see it.

I might have a copy saved but I don't have access to it while at the office. Let me check when I get home.

The kinds of places that I envision Connor working (movie theater, Piggly Wiggly, Goodwill, etc) generally have you fill out applications instead of a resume. I could see him as a stock boy, or the guy who sweeps up popcorn after the movie has ended. But all of those require long hours standing and moving things up to 30lbs, which leads to the same problems as getting him some craigslist experience.

I go out of town for a conference & miss our golden boy yet again. *sigh*

I'm all for easing into college life, which is why I've held off on criticizing @Connor for taking one class at a time, but this history class will be. . .what, your third consecutive single-class semester? Come on, you're a smart kid, you can do better than that. :heart-empty:

Man this makes an awful lot of sense...he DOES seem to follow this pattern everywhere, which we have evidence of thanks to based @Smutley 's fine work.

Definitely food for thought, good work buddy. :)
@BriarHeart's absolutely right, but don't we want Connor to keep coming back? You guys know he bails the second remarks become ever-so-slightly pointed. I think we're all still trying to find that happy medium between "gentle nudge in the right direction" & "lighting a fire under his ass" so he'll actually kinda-sorta maybe not completely shut down.

To save @Smutley from digging, here are the copies of the résumés that I have saved. Note: two of these were written by Kiwis.

I'm pretty sure he's got a disability in math of some sort. I asked him if he did once and he liked my post. He never actually said one way or another except that he gets a tutor, but it does seem likely considering what we know about him.

@BOLDYSPICY!, the first one is a lot better than what he has right now, honestly.

At the rate Connor is going, he WILL be a future student of USC; 30 years in the future.
You know, I actually missed that the first time around. I guess in theory that means that Connor actually plans on getting a four-year degree, & that the Technical College of the Lolcow is just a stepping stone to get his grades up enough to transfer into a proper university. So perhaps community college isn't just an autistic babysitting service?
Or it could be his parents want him to transfer, but Connor insists on dragging his feet because that's not what he wants to do. If that's the case, presumably his parents DO understand financial aid, & DO aspire for their son to eventually go to university & take a full course load, but are just paying for one class at a time for the moment because they don't want to break their fragile baby boy (as he probably threatened suicide or something).
