You didn't think there was a reason Shepard dies at the beginning and suddenly we have to play errand boy for the author's self insert super-genius, who acts like an utter prick, yet the story acts like we're supposed to be impressed by him? It's more like TLOU2 than you think.

To be fair, its always a challenge in trying to take a character who, for all intents and purposes, could effectively be a demigod in power by the end of the previous game, and press the big 'ol reset button on their abilities setting them back to square one in the sequel, all the while doing it effectively.

ME2 to that end does it pretty dramatically by literally blowing up your ship and you with it, which also causes your handpicked team to be scattered across civilized space in the intervening years between your death and resurection.

And you are the Illusive Man's errand boy, but the argument could be made that was intentional and that Shep in ME2 isn't actually the same one but a really well done fake created/cloned from the dead Shepard's body to be the Illusive Man's puppet. There's some idle NPC commentary that mentions that bootleg Shepard style holo-AIs or whatever got super popular after the events of the first one and one of them in particular was never found by the authorities. I don't know enough about ME but I think the vague implication there is that the Holo AI was used as the basis for ME2 Shep's consciousness, potentially 'altered' to be more receptive to whatever the Illusive Man wants them to do. Of course, the best ending route involves you going against the Illusive Man anyway by blowing up the Collector Base and if you have a full loyalty Miranda present during that bit, the IM turns to order her to stop Shep and she basically tells him to fuck off, when she was basically his devoted assistant at the beginning of the game.

Spoilers for old ending vs new ending.
Old ending: Misako and Kyoko spend the game trying to rescue your kidnapped boyfriends, while being taunted by Hatsube and Mami who are claiming to be their real girlfriends. At the end of the normal game (no secret boss fight), the girls find their boyfriends and it's revealed that Hatsube and Mami have been the real girlfriends all along, and the Misako and Kyoko were delusional and had convinced themselves that they were dating the boys (who were never really kidnapped). After finding all the collectables, you can go to the final boss room and instead of the final boss, you fight Hatsube and Mami. The only difference between the normal boss ending and secret boss ending is that the cutscene will say Hatsube and Mami's name instead of the normal final boss' name.

The changed secret ending is: After finding all the collectibles and beating the normal final boss, you can go back and fight Hatsube and Mami. Unlike the old update, this time the true ending has the girls finding the boyfriends and it's revealed that they were never kidnapped, just that they had a day at the spa. The girls hold hands with their boyfriends and go to get food together. It's definitely a lot happier and doesn't make the main characters psychos. The old true ending isn't accessible anymore, but it's essentially the same thing as the normal ending, which is still here and needs to be seen in order to get the new true ending.

I liked it, especially couch co-op with a few different friends. Spritework is top notch, enjoyed the manga cinematics and environments/weapons/enemies. Music was cute, some people hate it but anyone I played with liked it. JackSepticEye and Game Grumps voice cameos were absolutely terrible, but they're minor. Story ending was shit, but it's gotten better, it's an overall recommend from me, especially with the door fix; fighting near doorways and abandoning your partner or shifting screens when you didn't want to was incredibly dumb, and I'm not sure how playtesters didn't report that before launch.

I got the original ending. I tried collecting all those statues but there was one I just couldn't get and with enemies constantly respawning I just went "Fuck it! I beat the game!" and deleted my save. Might have to watch a LP of the real ending.

This is why I'm convinced this isn't the case of Abby being trans but more a case of breasts equal toxic masculinity.

If you are going to be a progressive LGBTQ+ game, why would you make your trans characters as ugly as possible? If anything, if Abby was trans, I would expect her to look MORE feminine, the same way we see trans people get giant bolt-ons to over compensate.

The fact that Abby is so ugly looking either means (1) she is cisgender or (2) she started off as a male character but changed late in development.

...what? I'm fairly certain the general assumption is that she is a FtM tranny, not MtF.

Cero only cares about upskirts, tho I can see them taking an issue with the blood and violence
The violence and nudity are apparently going to get hit. it will be interesting how many changes they'll implement or if they'll outright cut them entirely.
