What I find interesting about this storyline is how they appear to be pushing the "parents who don't let their kids troon out are abusive" angle, but I find that this plot just reinforces the "most girls troon out due to abuse or trying to escape womanhood".
Lev was about to be forced to marry an elder as per tradition, so it's not surprising that a young girl would want to be a "boy" to escape such a shitty fate. It's amazing to see Abby and Lev's sister discuss how "Lev" always felt like a boy on the inside since she was young, all while completely ignoring the outside factors that pushed Lev to feel that way in the first place. They talk about the abuse and the horrible sexist tradition, but then do nothing with it or act like it has any influence on why Lev wants to be a boy. They just accept that Lev said she felt like a boy, therefore she MUST be one.

Firstly, I think this confirms that the cult is actually bigoted. That was probably the one thing besides Abby's gender nobody could definitively figure out.
Secondly, holy shit that's a good point. Everyone but Ellie benefits from their revenge. It's as if the game exists purely to shit on the characters fans grew to love over the course of the first game, but of course we established that back when the first leaks came out.

I mean DSP may act stupid in game but tends to be fair when he is done with it, and gives positive and cons. I mean have you seen his fight with the last boss in MGS3. Its friggin gold. Like 5 vids it took him just to beat the boss XD
It was so painful to watch. I think when i was a 13 year old kid i went kind of rambo on her, machine gun and all that and just tried to jump away "Since she always dismantled my weapons" but the way he played it was just so... it was basically like stealth fighting a boss, it was so ridiculously sad to watch XD
