Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

I don't think I've seen this addressed here before but I'd love to know what everyone thinks about this - if Barb had passed away instead of Bob (at the same time in Chris's life) how would he have turned out currently? What would have been better and what would have been worse?

I think Bob would have had Chris move a lot of Barb's crap out of the house and I doubt the Tomgirl stuff would have gone nearly as far. I think Bob would have tried to make Chris much more fiscally responsible (or at least he would have tried)

If it's the latter, than screw that. I don't want Chris to hope that his toys might have been spit out or find garbage to sell so that he can replace them

Bitter and curmudgeonly though he may have been, Bob seemed fairly broken in his later life. But I don't doubt that he would've dug his heels in more firmly than Barb about the whole tomgirl thing. And potentially the job thing. Maybe that could've climaxed with Chris leaving the house (temporarily) to crash with some of his enablers? I'm curious about everyone's predictions, too.

At least it's a timeline where Chris doesn't get to sell off Bob's prized belongings like an asshole.

I doubt Bob would have threatened to kill himself and been dramatic over it. I wonder if Bob only reacted that way (threatening to lock Chris out if he left again) because he didn't want to deal with Barb freaking out over it and her eventual "just bury me in these clothes" rants

If this had been around when Chris first got into Pokemon he might’ve been able to save his teeth. Though apparently people discovered you can cheese it by just moving an object in front of the camera, so in all likelihood Chris would’ve done the same.

That is true. I'd add that appropriate dress must include appropriate hair style. No more seaweed. Get in shape, lose the titty skittles and wear regular clothes. You *can* find okay clothes in thrift shops, it's not all ugly clown shirts and potato sacks.

Agree, the thrift store can be super disgusting, but you can also find awesome shit there on occasion. Found a gorgeous leather bomber jacket once, and it sold for cheaper than a meal. Or sometimes you just walk into the mall and think, "The FUCK are people wearing these days?" Ugly trends still make it to fashionable markets. I used to do design work for one of the more pretentious brands, and most of that industry is just finding ways to jack up prices on a T-shirt with a pineapple printed on it.

Chris's problem isn't that he shopped at the thrift store, it's that he and Barb had awful taste. He really should've just stuck with the whole Carlos Chantor thing.

Was wondering the same thing, since he's a massive orbiter. I think it's because he was always churning out bizarre content even before latching onto Chris. The dude probably took a shitty quiz and elevated things to a new autistic level upon 'discovering' that he's a starseed. Add a cruddy upbringing and a generous helping of deviancy, et voilà.

Pretty sure he'd correct it and try to soak up all the credit in some way before giving it a criminally modest score. Custom builds are awesome, but a guy'd have to be nuts to even consider sending Chris the real deal.

Sockass has a long history as a lolcow before he ever heard of Chris. Read the OP of his thread and you will see why he's not in the Chris-Chan section. He's also barely involved with Chris right now after being shut down by MkrNightvee and her crew of orbiters. He's harassing a few other 'tards now and trying to keep his ego and his gut fed.
