Maybe if the game showed any of those events and based the story off those bad things that would be a point but it isnt, it's based around a fairly reasonable action you have no control over.

Maybe if at ANY point Druckmann remembered or cared that he was making a videogame and not a film, there could have been meaningful choices about whether you kill people or let them go, multiple endings etc but nah, Druckmann wanted to hamfist this exact garbage story in.

I doubt you could even spin it to be reasonable. Up until the end of the first game, the most nutritious foods people were eating were rats. Fucking rats. His past wasn’t something to be proud of, but it was at least somewhat justified in a world where you were regularly starving and had no infrastructure. Not to mention Joel gave up that morally dubious hunter position for smuggling, as an attempt to settle down as best as he could in a fucked up world.

exactly, these dolts think any action is equally justified if the game just tells you its not clear cut when without the filter of it being a fictional product telling you how to feel its pretty cut and dry that abby and her thugs are unlikable cunts

But for real, Druckmann seriously thought we wanted to see Abby naked? Just stop and think about that.

It's a shame it had to end this way for Last of Us, the prologue to the first game is one honestly one of the more memorable moments in gaming for me, it was scary as hell, it really came close to capturing the vibe of what it was like to wake up on 9/11.

Pretty sure he knew NOBDOY wanted to see Abby naked. People would hate to see Abby naked. That's why he put that in there. Everything about the game's choice seems to be based on spite.

Has it really? Andromeda was burned hard for its mistakes, and 100 million is no small amount of money.

If this ends the IP in the eyes of the public, or results in early termination of their TV series, the damage will have been done. The original shipped consoles, and losing that edge is something neither Sony nor Naughty Dog would be happy about.

It's like I said earlier and sort of what @Secret Asshole keeps saying. Druckmann pretty much did everything possible that he could get away with to rile people up because he has no other talent, and I guarantee you he will shortly pull a Rian Johnson/Paul Feig on Twitter and smear the critics as alt-right, racist, misogynist, homophobes and transphobes. He wants the attention.

I really wish ND didn't give Joel the intelligence of a monkey just so that they could kill him off easier instead of making his death more impactful to the audience that knows who he is. Now we're all here sitting and thinking to ourselves that Joel's somehow developed severe retardation to just willfully walk into a trap like that.

C'mon man, if you're gonna kill off characters from the first game at least be creative with it.
