Dead video game series/franchises you refuse to let go

I would love to see BloodRayne make a comeback, provided they go all in with the edgy violence and skimpy outfits.

Really, BloodRayne is the kind of game that wouldn't fly in "Current Year" but if someone was wise enough to give it a proper remake that stays true to its early 2000's edgelord roots, it could sell very well.

I could see it being viewed as a breath of fresh air after the smug pretentiousness, intentionally ugly character designs, and overall woke malaise of the 2010's, provided the game itself is good.

Honestly, if I were in charge of a BloodRaye reboot, I'd do it in the style of the "N. Sane Trilogy" where it's three full games in one. BloodRaye and BloodRaye 2 being remade, as well as a BloodRayne 3 that takes place after the first game but before the second.

Hell, if you're going all in on the "problematic" content and early 2000's edge, have BloodRayne 3 be set during the Cold War and make the Soviets the main bad guys like how the Nazis were in the first game.

Mother, but then again most of you can tell by my COOOMAtora profile pic
mostly because I expect nintendo to make a shitty translation of 3 not as good as the fan one I already played to cash in on the "fan" audience

and I considering I bought nearly all versions of Earthbound/mother 2, I would probably buy that piece of shit as well

the starmen.net mother 3 fan translation headed by tomato is still pretty much perfect and if nintendo ever releases a brand new mother game without itoi's approval i will probably have a gigantic tard fit and melt into nothingness.

even if itoi was involved i would still feel kind of iffy - mother 3 feels like such an iconic conclusion to the trilogy nearly 15 years later and every single fucking game series under the sun is being whored out by the industry with remakes and reboots and remasters and shit since it's been trying to kiss up to hollywood's ass for decades now. it would be really really nice if mother was the one set of games that actually somehow manages to avoid this seemingly never ending trend. it remains to be seen whether or not itoi's recently announced hobonichi mother project will either prove me wrong or just result in a bunch of shiny brand new mother 2 planners being released in japan only (i'm leaning towards the latter)

Oh yeah I 100% agree it will be shit if it happens, but I feel it's inevitable. like movies game franchises need to be cashed in on, an while yes I love the tomato translation as much as the next guy, truth is joe normie is too tech illiterate to get download a patched rom, much less apply an ips file. combine that with Nintendo fanboys who won't emulate no matter what, and you got a large audience for nintendo to CONSUME
I don't think even they would go forward with a mother 4 (keep in mind itoi owns a portion of the copyright) but a inferior version of the starman translation done years later for suckers who want it """officially""", it's feasible considering how many people beg for it. I worry more about nintendo reviving it's corpse like a zombie then hope this shit happens.
as for mother project, I could see shit like more merch other then the planners (pollyanna is a manga, maybe some M3 offical figures finally), but I don't see a new game in the cards thankfully, because I just don't see itoi surviving another hellish dev cycle like m3 was.

Human words fail to express the absolute butthurt I feel that we're never going to see a sequel or at least a remake. This game was unironic art. The story was plain and simple and thus worked: You were basically a high-test chad version of Luigi from the Mario brothers in a setting where the Soviet Union has literally conquered the entire world and your goal is to free everyone from communism in what is - let's face it - a pretty hopeless fight. At the end of the game you have liberated New York, but you learn that the Soviets are coming back with an even greater force to retake it. It was relatively simple, what you'd expect from an action movie or an early to mid 2000s action game. No pretentiousness, but something that works. It's pretty much the closest thing to a video game adaptation of Red Dawn (the original one from 1984 with the late Patrick Swayze of course because we don't talk about the other one).

The gameplay was fun. On lower difficulties you could try (and often fail) to reenact Rambo III, but on normal or higher ones you have to be big brained and always keep in mind that you and your friends are fighting as a team if you want to just survive, let alone win.

The soundtrack was just a beautiful thing to behold.

Hearing this theme after the "YEAH!" sound was, especially in the later missions, such a borderline orgasmic relief given how intense the battles could get because the Soviets were not fucking around.

Speaking of which, the theme of the Soviet Union was amazing.

I'd recommend reading the lyrics' translation in one of the YouTube comments.

See Druckmann, this is how you make art.

DEAD SPACE!!!!!
I watched a friend play that, he nearly shit himself at a really predictable jumpscare and I took the piss out of him.

He reloaded and made me play it, I nearly shat myself at that exact same jumpscare that I knew was coming, and he's never gonna let me live it down.

Dead Space 1 and 2 were some of the best games ever, and looking at what is considered triple A this week, Dead space 3 wasnt that bad either.

Left 4 dead. One day. ONE DAY. We will get a TRUE successor to left 4 dead.
We have that already, it's called Left 4 Dead 2.

A VR exclusive digital card game.
I angrily gritted my teeth so hard at least three molars cracked.

I'm actually a giant wimp and don't like gore or jumpscares, I prefer psychological horrors or thrillers.

I admitted I don't like games or movies with extensive gore or jumpscares and this the reply I get? For someone called "Love Machine" you're certainly mean. I like it, wanna be BFFs with me and Flexo?
