Its might not be the end for Naughty Dog, but Druckman's career is most certainly over. He has fucked up to an exceptional degree and will not work in the AAA sphere again. Isn't Anita cancelled for being a TERF? I thought that maybe that's why Abby is unlikable, but they wouldn't have had be trans or a Mary Sue if that was the case. Maybe it was done to please Anita, but when she was cancelled it was too late to change it.

I foresee a large initial peak as preorders and NPCs shell out, then a fall off as people realise the leaks were accurate and that this is a stupid game with a stupid plot, and then crawling along until it hits bargain bins, upon where there'll be another peak as a meme game.

I think it's going to have the exact same results as Mass Effect Andromeda. I don't remember if it had high sales early on, but it will end being dumped in local goodwills. All the while, Sony will make sweeping statement about how "this is the fastest selling console exclusive!*"

Growing up reading TV tropes and know it all film critics sarcastically pointing out cliches and tropes. By "subverting expectations", they expect to be seen as clever and unique, but they fail to realize (or simply don't care) that zigging instead of zagging is not a substitute for effort or cleverness.
