The message they're sending is that they will destroy *your* history, *your* way of life and replace it all with their own. That there is no history and way of life but their own.

It's virtually drummed into kids at a young age now this idpolitics stuff, communism theories "everyone wins", as well as America being purely evil simply by existing. Telling them racism is worse now than it was in 1860. They don't teach kids how to think critically, just how to absorb, and regurgitate information. So I think this was part of the plan. I mean if the other government departments are gone, then why not the Department of Education? After all didn't Gore Vidal say himself "Why would a Government want a critical and well informed public?"

You can have the Democrats shred the constitution and start a new glorious Communist Republic, and the people will cheer because thats how they were taught. America must be destroyed.

Well that comes from Government Departments doesn't it, Social Services, Child Care guidelines, Education Curriculum. Someone made a conscious choice at the very top to make things the way they are. Demonizing American History, villifying the founders of the country, pushing the idea of white original sin. After a few generations, that in my mind would make a populace easily manipulated and unwilling to contest me removing any civil rights as I see fit. Or perhaps just removing the constitution altogether. They'll believe me when I say we are making a new fair country, except you are now all virtually slaves, but equal.

Some enterprising person should replace one of those with a statue of Trump. Made out of papier-mache or something, filled with about 100lbs of certain infamous fertilizer and 200lbs of roofing nails. In Minecraft, of course.

The funny/scary thing is, Nolan was very perceptive about how wannabe revolutionary extremists operate. Metaphorically you can interpret the entire trilogy as being about combating the elements that seek to destroy an ailing society and rebuild it in their image. Not saying he was prophetic, of course, he was only blending historical precedent with comic book characters to tell an interesting story that happens to have aged strikingly well.
