But as a "group" it is Antifa who empowered these lone individuals to also act in a state of anarchy. Also because it is Anarchy it allows for everyone to take advantage of "the system" and do what ever they want.
The sad fact is at least to the antifa supporting people I know they think human nature is to work together and work in good faith (one is mentally ill to the fuckth degree so...some others less so) yet we are not seeing that, we are seeing humans take advantage of others. When humans work together they for a society and a government to provide safety and security to the members of the society.

I am really getting to the point where I think Trump will lose. Tucker is right. This entire crisis, and the Corona one before that, has been a perfect opportunity for him to win the election, and he's ruined it. With Corona, he was doing great in his leadership and press conferences, til he got sucked into sparring with the press and doubling down on shit they were mocking him about like hydroxychoroquine. With this crisis, he has made himself look ineffectual and having no power to fix it. Key members of his staff and military are basically in open rebellion and won't allow him to use force. Any chance he's had to step in and take control of the narrative he's ignored. His only playbook is to just hold rallies and bask in the adulation of his base and think that's going to guarantee a win. Unless he pulls a rabbit out of his hat, he's going to get his ass kicked by Biden and by February President Stacy Abrams will be undoing every Executive Order he's ever done.
I also think that the Democrats in charge see the extremist statue topplers and police abolishers of the SJW movement and Antifa as useful idiots. I don't think your average Democrat who is enabling this and cheering it on really wants to see our history erased. The problem is, they think that once they use the extremists to get power, the extremists will shut up and we can roll our life back to the time of Obama and Bill Clinton with a few new things like gay marriage and legal pot.
The reality is they are stoking the fires of groups who want to end America and replace it with a new fascist socialist dictatorship. A place that has no history, and the history of it's predecessor state is banned. Where Revolutionary cadres run the streets, control education, take people away in the night. A nation where owning a book on US history is illegal and all old monuments are destroyed. Where the progressive stack and a new apartheid is the social order. Where we eat bugs and live in pods.
The funny thing is, those of us who are observant have seen this coming for years. We've seen it in colleges. We've seen it online. A great example many people here saw firsthand was on Something Awful. The small "l" liberal Admins like Zach, Fistgrrl, Ozma, Finn, promoted an increasingly far left Liberal Social Justice group of Moderators. They watched with glee as those mods banned wrongthink, kicked out racists and Republicans, allowed LF to terrorize GBS. They thought they controlled the extremists. Then they found to their horror they didn't, and one by one the Admins stepped down and left a site they no longer felt was home. I remember when SS doxxed Finn and he was hiding in his soccer shitposting megathread, whining about how he couldn't even make jokes on SA anymore.
The same will happen to the Democrats if they win. The statues of Washington and Grant won't just go back up. We won't roll back to 2016 like nothing happened. They have no control of this but think they do.
I don't see how. Biden can't even field questions. There's no way the Democrats would allow him on stage in a debate. Everyone knows he's done. If anything the loss of Bernie and Biden being on the ticket has taken out all the wind of the Democrats sails. All they have left is angry far left Bernie bros and Anarchists who just want to smash the whole system. When you need to start hiring rioters then you are getting desperate.

There's honestly little way to argue against them in an American context that values freedom of speech. These people have induced an autoimmune syndrome in the West, where the self-criticism that allows for societal self-improvement becomes directed against the system itself.
I think the pathways are either towards a Jacobin burnout, or a repudiation at the 2020 elections.
Trump's honestly likely the best there is at the moment. There's very few people I can see who would be willing to take on the Washington establishment consensus and fight against things that seemingly have been considered immutable.
The problem I think is that everyone underestimated how far the establishment had sunk its roots into various parts of society, and how hard they'd make that fight. Something like the border wall (which both parties supported even 20 years ago) ends up being a massive fight between a compromised judiciary and the government.

Cuomo has been going hard into showing he's the best candidate. He keeps saying he has no interest, but he has been sparring with Trump and trying to show a contrast to him for the past 100 days.
Yesterday he did his final briefing on Coronachan, and it was different from the press conferences. It was a sober, scripted, ersatz Oval Office speech full of noble platitudes and the most blatant "Please ask me to be the Democratic Presidential Nominee" thing he's done yet:
Related to the thread topic, he has also spent the past 3+ weeks adding the "Civil Unrest" to his daily briefings, and opining and proclaiming. He ordered all NYS towns and counties to give him a plan to reform police or lose state funding by next April. He declared Juneteenth a state holiday a few days ago. He's setting himself up as a middle ground straight talking guy who gets things done and is to the left of Drumpf but to the right of crazy DiBlasio, who he clashes with all the time.
He has won a ton of fans, rightly or wrongly, among republican voters in the state for his handling of the virus, and keeps trumpteting how NY is the only state which is going down to almost no cases when the rest of the country is spiking. He has regional support and was the first governor to defy Trump's threats to nationalize the COVID response by soft threatening secession by creating a breakaway group of Allied States, and had 6 other governors deferring to him. He also is a tough NYC guy who can't easily be bullied by Trump on a debate stage.
Cuomo is just waiting to be asked, to be begged to accept the nomination, but he won't volunteer. He very much idolizes and emulates his father, and back in the 90s his father was in a similar position:
If Andrew is asked, he absolutely will change history and board that plane. But he wants to be asked. If he is though, he could probably wipe the floor with Trump in the general election. He was right to sit out the clown car debates of the 24 other candidates, which only made them all look bad. All Biden has to do is drop out and endorse Cuomo and ask his delegates to support Cuomo. Then do a quick and dirty convention, maybe even a virtual one, and Cuomo has all summer to get out there and easily can with him having "solved" the state's major problems of Corona and racism.
