Twitter yesterday was going mental over this. "OMG Trump threatened peaceful protesters with violence! He's a dictator!" etc. I didn't capture any of it, because it was so boringly predictable, copy-paste feigned outrage and not a single clever line.
But for the people who want him to shut down the carnage: keep in mind that's the narrative that happens when he doesn't even make a real threat. If he actually sent in troops to protect a statue somewhere. it would be 10x worse, and he's lose part of his base. The media would send legions of camera men to capture that one predictable image of a kneeling black woman in the streets with a National Guardsman looming over her, and recycle it endlessly.

A source told the Telegraph there were three individuals declared dead at the scene and two transferred to the emergency department of Royal Berkshire Hospital, where they are receiving resuscitation.

That was another one of those cases of Hollywood ridiculing whites and Christians with their stock caricatures employed to engender hatred against and demoralize members of those groups. When dealing with hundreds of millions of people, genocide is a dish best slow-boiled.
Also, to be fair, what Christians have cited as 'the devil' has been, after decades, proven correct on most every single thing. It's like several thousand years of experimentation and the resulting wisdom was useful after all.
