Diseased Neo-Pagans / Witches on the Internet / Witchblr - SMT IRL, but with fatties

It's a hobby for them, its fun. They only take the parts they like.
Witchblr just seems like a group of lonely people who are playing make believe so they can be a part of a community, only they’re so divorced from reality they think it’s real. The part about the person who hadn’t cursed in 10 years cursing the nazi witch is the most obvious example of how just schizophrenically fictional it is. Someone actually trying to attach any form of logic to this (i.e. that girl trying to say trans blood doesn’t count as a woman’s) are only going to get shit on because none of it makes sense anyway, so there’s no reason for it not to adhere to modern day SJW values and expectations. That girl just didn’t get the memo that she’s not playing pretend the right way.

What is it with Gen X/Millenial women and their attraction to witchcraft/neopagan shit? I've seen a lot of it on social media, usually just reposts of moonbatt-tier "magic" or "witchcraft" related aphorisms, but still. It's especially odd when they're concurrently posting lots of stuff related to church activities. I don't know if you read Exodus, Melissa, but God- he ain't so hot on witches.

Although I guess amidst all the metaphorical witch hunting going on, it's amusing that "real" witches self identify.

Bit late with this but to add to others:

It is extremely easy to do. The look requires very little change from the typical basic woman look, the fashion is cheap and is very similar to what is currently in the zeitgeist for female fashion trends. The housewares are also very simple, candles with a few tacky holders and generic pewter statues and you have the look. Plus females have a fetish for throws and blankets, and they are easy to stick a pentagram on and some spooky shit ripped from a fake necronomicon (not sure if you can have a fake book of a fake book though, but you know what I mean).

It has so little in the way of barrier for entry that anyone with a tiny bit of effort can do it. Its mostly performative, evidenced by the majority of spells and hexes are little more than wishful thinking. You are unlikely to see animal sacrifices, or pilgrimages which would require a real commitment to the cause, just shallow platitudes and twitch tarot readings.

The Gerardian witch is a troll post, but Witchblr HAS been in a tizzy the past week over whether it's problematic to use Magick vs. Magic because I guess they're just now learning that Aleister Crowley was the kind of guy whose idea of religion was "freemasons but make it sexy."

Ah, thanks for the info. The "Gerard" part felt LARP-y and not too serious, but the Crowly part checked out so I included it. I'll steer clear of their posts from now on.

To be fair, their shitposting did get them a self-plug by a true and honest witch.

Considering how ~positive and empowering~ the current witchy movement is, inspiring Christian quotes and spells are basically one and the same, you just swap out the deity in question.

Sub out "god" with "goddess" and you've got 90% of witchy quotes.

Said poster looks like a good source of second-hand Witchblr content, since they reblog some silly things as part of their satire. Examples:

This is the second time I see rock sex toys in this life. I thought humanity could only be so stupid.

I can see it now. 10,000 years in the future, at the ancient burial site of a Tumblr witch, who died at it's console when cataclysm hit.

Future Archeologist #1:
"Sir, these remains are too degraded & contaminated, we have no idea what this was."

Future Archeologist #2:
"My scanner defects life from those stone objects! Test them!"

FA #1:
"Amazing! These worked crystals have been entirely colonized by a completely anerobic mutant human strain of herpegonalsyphlaids! There's enough usable DNA in there to reconstruct this person for sure!"

Different deities -- same narcissism.

Aleister Crowley was the kind of guy whose idea of religion was "freemasons but make it sexy."
Literally what Wicca in its original form was. Gerald Gardner, who got it going in the early 1950s, was a retired British civil servant and Freemason who copied Masonic Blue Lodge rituals and passed them off as "ancient Wiccan rites". (This is a BIG no-no in Freemasonry; Brothers are prohibited from transmitting the secret ceremonies in any form on pain of all sorts of ugly punishments.)

Of course, Gardner made the rites coed, and added nakedness and light S&M to them to make them "magick".

This is like the Tumblr version of meme magick, only with more blatant wish-fulfillment and less autistic devotion to the random numbers of the post. The worst part is the "make shit up to align to modern SJW doctrine". Pretty much all indo-european traditions are extremely racist and would be cancelled if they looked at the original texts. For example look at Indra (Sanskrit Thor/Rod/Zeus equivalent) in the Rig Veda, particularly the fifth verse of hymn 73 of the 9th mandala.
O'er Sire and Mother they have roared in unison bright with the verse of praise, burning up riteless men,
Blowing away with supernatural might from earth and from the heavens the swarthy skin which Indra hates.
Plenty of other examples to be found of racism, elitism, misogyny and love of violence. They do not even care enough to read the original works, for them its all some new age facade over what is essentially christian morality. If they took these spiritual undertakings seriously (asceticism, intense mediation and study etc etc) then I maybe would have a modicum of respect for them. But they don't, so I don't.

Also Aleister Crowley is a pedophile rapist who raped an Egyptian boy because it would grant him magic powers.

It's not just the ancient stuff that's incompatible with their ideology; William Atkinson, a guy who wrote some interesting magic stuff in the early 20th century, wrote this:

Doesn't seem pretty queer friendly to me smh
