The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

I meant to include this with my previous post with Ty Beard watching the sex scene, but it slipped my mind.

A while back someone posted a YouTube vid that showed that scene from the Japanese version of the game. In Japan, the scene is edited so it cuts to black right after Abby takes whatshisname's shirt off, if I recall correctly. Maybe it's already been mentioned here - I can't keep up with this thread anymore - but that version of the scene is far sexier than the one that actually shows the sex. Why? Because the sex is so… bad. It's like it was written by a middle-school kid who has no idea how good sex should work - "they kissed and then they took their clothes off and he stuck his dick into her and pushed REALLY HARD." There's no foreplay, no romance, it doesn't look all that much fun for either participant… it's like a consensual rape or something. It's gross and mechanical. At least with the version of the scene that cuts away earlier, your imagination allows you to imagine there was some actual passion there.

tl;dr: After seeing that scene for the first time I haven't been able to get an erection.

The amount of people claiming the game is just getting review bombed due to bigotry is pretty pathetic.
  • Cuckman took a story based game and botched the story.
  • Cuckman destroyed the two main characters the franchise was built upon and had them act completely different to how they would in the previous game without providing a reason for such character development.
  • Cuckman made a big violence porn simulator just to convey the shallow message of "violence bad. Vengeance don't solve nuthin'"
  • Cuckman made a fucking cartoon troon and fucked it with his self-insert character (he's so progressive omg)
And the list goes on. The game is objectively bad and stomps all over its predecessor. For example the final scene: why the fuck would Ellie threaten to kill an incapacitated non-combatant? Why would the fucking serial killer refuse to fight someone shes tried to kill on multiple occasions?

Oh, right. Because Cuckman needs Abby to be the good GUY in the end, so he demonizes Ellie and makes Abby out to be the bigger MAN.

So fucking dumb. I'm glad ND didn't get my shekels.

Congratulations Neil, you did. 10/10 storytelling. Can't wait for part 3
I completely finished the game.

I regret ever saying this game was okay. The ending actually, in fact, ruined it.

Revenge actually did give Abby closure, so the message failed

Gotta love how the game tries to make you feel bad or sour your opinion of Ellie because she murders a pregnant Mel.

The way the entire WLF crew became the eager spectators of Abs' slow torture and murder of Joel like the goddamn Roman Colosseum cheering at the lions, it literally makes EVERY SINGLE MEMBER completely and irreversibly irredeemable as they were fully complicit in every single second of it.

But because one of these is pregnant we're supposed to be "sympathetic" and "questioning of our protagonist going evil". Fuck no, if anything she and Owen deserved worse, like Nora getting her skull bashed in after daring to insult Joel at gunpoint just to rub salt in the wound. Reminds me of Soy Wars wanting us to root for Kylo fucking Ren and worse, becoming Reylos, after he mercilessly killed Han Solo, an universally-loved icon and pretty much a sacred deity in the pantheon of pop culture that had earned that position after 35 years of a fandom celebrating Star Wars.

Well guess what, Reylos are weird.

Especially given how Ellie has just murdered tons of people already, many of which were women who could've been in the early stages of pregnancy themselves. But no, this is what makes her breakdown.

On another note, been watching streamers play through the game. I gotta say, this game looks unbelievably boring. Like, there's almost no sense of pacing or rhythm to anything, and it's padded out to an insane degree with tons of areas where you do absolutely nothing other than walk through samey looking buildings gathering the same types of resources. It literally feels like the first game with nothing new added aside from the ability to jump like a half inch.

And this is what passes for a 10/10 nowadays?

When even Japan, a country that fetishizes traps, trannies lesbians, gays and futas can't even stomach the gay sex

A few more gems from TV Tropes forums (though granted, it is mainly just this one user):

"Some people like stories of survival and the brutality of revenge stories. People keep asking for who this story is for and I'm assuming it's the same people who like the remake of True Grit and Unforgiven."

"I really liked the depiction of Jackson and Ellie's relationship with Dina. I may not like Dina all that much but the rebuilding of the world is rather nice."

"Well the first game was about the infected. This is a game about two humans who are trying to kill each other."

"Honestly, a lot of this seems to be, They Changed It, So It Sucks. They wanted a game with Joel and Ellie. They also want Ellie to be their surrogate daughter and not a grown up heroine on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge. On the TLOU forums, they talk for pages about how Joel would NEVER tell strangers his name. In the end, I gave my review for Grimdark Magazine based on what my readers expected from us and what I felt about the game."

"In my experience the "this character didn't act 100% pragmatically at all times" criticism is one of the most arbitrary complaints I've ever seen. Not because it's always wrong, but because no one I've seen applies is consistantly. People were shitting on Joel's death LOOOOONG before the details of exactly how he ended up in that position surfaced. I feel like no matter what scenario led Joel to being unceremoniously beaten to death with a golf club, it would've been dissected and shat upon for any reason regardless."

"Some people have this instinct that if a reviewer consensus doesn't line up with their own (in these cases, mostly negative) opinion, then clearly it's because the reviewers were bought out instead of, you know, them having a minority opinion which most people do about one thing or another. Opinion Myopia writ large. You saw the same thing with The Last Jedi. In this case, there's some grounds to make that argument, but it's being applied selectively to TLOU 2 because the people in question just don't like the game. If it was less divisive, I doubt they would have cared."

" Divorced of all the transphobia and sexism and other illegitimate complaints, the complaints seem to be:
  • Killing a beloved franchise character [See Mileena]
  • Character Shilling said character [which is a legitimate, albeit often petty complaint]
  • The fact this is an extraordinarily grim story without Ellie's adorability to contrast it against.
  • It ends without catharsis."
"I loved Joel. He's one of my all time favorite protagonists but he's also a guy that was never going to live happily ever after. Weirdly, I'd argue Joel would be one of the first guys who would say that whoever hunted him down and killed him probably had good cause. Which makes Ellie's desire to avenge him all the more bitter as Joel would never want that. It's pretty similar to the ending of the original RDR where John's son becomes exactly the kind of person he didn't want him to be."

"His final line is also telling Abby to just get on with whatever bullshit she has in store already. Which I liked."

"The problem is everyone jumped to the ending spoilers. Ellie feels pretty awesome hunting these piles of shit down."

Well, at least someone's having fun with the game.

I feel like they're just consoomers desperately rationalizing their decision to pre-buy this game. Or alts made by Sony, because unlike most wokeshit this can't even get that crowd to defend it.

On the subject of subverting zombie apocalypse, someone should just man up and write a story after the apocalypse. Whatever, zombies munched 90% of the population somehow, civilization fell. And then people gathered together and adapted and outlived the zombies, and the random survivors of the world have to start up their civilizations again with whatever patchwork knowledge they have or can glean from the remnants. Possibly without any idea how the zombies happened, where they came from, or any guarantee that they won't come back some day or somehow if they do the wrong thing or enough time passes. Then you can have your post-apocalypse drama and civilization building anarchy porn and not have to force in the zombies and shock kills.

They could try to release the last of us 3 but after this and without a good character what could they put on it? are people going to buy and deal with another 40 hours of abby?
abby not gonna be in it. They’ll make sure of that... also? Gross is 100% not gonna be there either Because they’ll most likely blame her as the first game was a success not only without her, but because Druckmann was the sole writer. part 3 will be written by Sony and Druckmann and Try to please those who hate the second game.
