Do you know the difference though?

The big, BIG difference?

Dan Houser's competent. As are the other two writers, Micheal Unsworth and Rupert Humphries. They likely built things in certain ways so things could be cut or moved around without fucking things up.

End of the day, RDR 2's a spaghetti Western, doesn't apologise for it, and doesn't rub in your face how fucking clever it's trying to be. It's a relatively dumb story told very very well.
It's more of a revisionist western I'd say but that's getting autistic. It probably helps that the Housers are no doubt artistically selective when it comes to hiring other writers. Chris Cantamessa, one of the other writers for RDR1 left afterwards kinda like Bruce Straley after UC4, the main difference being the Housers hired competent people and Druckmann hired some cunt who had written some shitty episodes of shitty TV shows who just so happened to have the name "Gross". I'm sure that last part is a coincidence though.

After taking a long hike through the release hype...I don't really have anything much to add. Except, really, that I think a game can be in a sense artistic. It can be a window to another world, and that world can be anything you want it to be. What's happened over the past few years is that we have also opened a window to the soul of liberal/SJW types, who were blackpilled by Trump's election and have proceeded to shit on anything percieved as good (or at least associated with white males) afterwards with renewed venom. My theory on their state of mind is that if they're not happy, we can't be happy either. TLOU2 took 7 years to make; I wonder if anything changed during the production after fall of 2016. Wouldn't be surprised one bit if Neil jumped off the deep end at that point.

You're looking too deep into it, fam. Druckmann just wanted to tell a 'dark, edgy' story. He tried, it didn't work.

He's pretty much always been this way if you watch his old interviews from the Last of Us 1 era. In his past games, though, he's had people like Bruce Straley to push back on his more crazy ideas. This time around, though, he was more or less the sole director of the game.

All the conspiracy theories about this game are weird af tbh.

I don't think Straley was involved in any writing. He was a co-director, but he's not credited as having done any writing.

The relationship between Dina and Ellie is also a huge issue for being so non - serious in this end of the world setting, non-existent, and lack chemistry, it's really nothing like the DLC of the first game, there was some kind of magic at least and you felt for the characters, here you feel absolutely nothing guenuine or nice happening between Ellie and Dina, there's little to no relationship or room for emotional "attachment" / special binding between the characters it's not only badly written it feels pretty much like a second or third thought, makes the story even more boring and the relationship between Ellie and Dina barely real at best and unbearable at worst.

They also start calling themselves "babe" just after having sex just once, also feels cringe / immature / forced.

Thank fuck for some sanity.
Achievement unlocked #NotYourShield. Congrats, this individual figured out what GamerGaters did 6 years ago. Thats the entire point of that hashtag.Didn't stop us from getting slaughtered by the MSM as rabid sexists and racists though.

Though in my infinite cynicism is this a red pill, or just another example of the far left eating it's own? Meh whatever. Looking forward to that fleeting moment of clarity being slammed down for thinking outside the programming. one of two things will happen. Nail stuck up, will remain hammered in, OR nail will not like the hammering and get a clue and leave the mentally ill alphabet community. I'm looking forward to responses to that post from xis kin.

This is so refreshing, holy shit. Fucking right on, all may not be lost.
Some people might be slow, but once they realize they were exploited they will be pissed and you can't control them. My only hope is they realize that's not the only way they are being exploited by corporations for brownie points but that's abit optimistic since people consider companies their friends.
Gamexplain was founded by a leftist, what did you expect? Naturally they were gonna suck sony's cock dry.

The way I view it is it's a sort of george lucas situation with the prequels, yes his vision has always been like this but there could be fueling of what was going on in the world at the time into why it is expressed this bad (for george, alot of the bush admin was probably why it focused so much on LE SPACE POLITICS). Often times current events are the fuel of the fire of a shitty story, not the engine blasting coal in the conductors face at random intervals about to explode, it's a symptom of whats wrong not the actual flaws with it.
because the best part of this game is, no matter what political side someone is on, they can very easily and with very little effort at all shit on it due to how poor it is done.

Well quite. It's supposed to be a hard post-apocalyptic world in which life is difficult. So how do they show people having a relationship in such difficult circumstances? They have high school movie tier dialogue with high school movie tier drama (i.e. the bigot sandwich), smoke weed out of a gas mask, and then start necking. And all of a sudden, they're in WUV.

Really, game? Really?

Well shit, you're right. Though I would imagine a director would have some say on how the story generally plays out.

We have a universe where freakish fungus zombies exist and they think a tranny sex scene will be shocking?

Where's my rotting mushroom penis tentacle monster? An infected gestalt that goes around raping women like a ravenous land ocotpus so that they may become corrupted brood queens to produce more individuals for the zombie mutant collective? Give me some real body horror shit.
Dragon Age did it better in that regard, they also handled bigotry better at least iirc by letting you play as casteless dwarves who suffer hard lives and just let you make your own mind up.

also what the fuck his eyes are empty husks here holy shit
This is your soul on corporate smegma.

These are such dark times we live in, a real insult to injury is that the game evidently does have scenes of Ellie and Joel together, reflecting what worked best about the first game, their relationship, it was wonderfully human.

Now the sequel has anti-human shit like a "woman" with a male body getting fucked in the ass.

Seriously guys, how have things fallen so far since 2013?
