IMO, punk rock was an awful mistake and metal is better. It may be a controversial opinion that very much goes against the pop culture orthodoxy, but I stand by that opinion.

The only semi-good things to come from punk were thrash metal and goth, and the latter fell into the same pretentious purity spirals as punk did.

I tried explaining the monuments argument to my dad (an upper-class black professional), saying that if we were knocking down statues of Grant because he had a slave for a year that it was only a matter of time before we started going after Washington, Jefferson, Caesar, Augustus, Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Alexander...he's cool with all of it. I'm mostly whining here because I can't bitch about this on normal social media (because I'd be fired in a heartbeat), but it's utterly disturbing to watch. A black man who grew up in a 3rd world shithole, was lucky enough to be brought to the US at a young age, given a scholarship through affirmative action, then married a white woman, is screaming for the whole thing to be burnt down, all while claiming that his own children are somehow leeches benefiting from white privilege.

The intersectional crowd has been trying to fold the whole Pride thing into their racial agenda for a few years now. It started with adding gross black and brown stripes to the pride flag.

This is now the 'official' Pride flag, and they've been working on going the extra mile by slapping the troon flag on as well. I saw a sign that had one half devoted to Pride and one half devoted to BLM while we were driving around earlier, and that's as close as I've seen to a nod towards the Gay Agenda ™ at the moment.

Now, I'll be honest, it's been many a moon since I've been anywhere near a Pride event, but my impression is that 'black trans lives matter' is supposed to be enough of a shout out to placate teh gheys. The sad truth is that most of the ones who have drunk the SocJus koolaid probably won't notice or care. They're no longer the pet grievance group and they're well aware, which is why there's a large push to divide the LGB from the T (see the LGB Alliance, currently listed as a hate group by like... everyone) and the Gender Critical sphere on Reddit/Tumblr/Twitter.

No one is going to get their feathers ruffled except the troons, enbies, and gender-specials, and they're already working overdrive to wedge themselves into the discussion 'cause muh black troons.
