On what?

Edit: Insurance covered the bill of around $30k. Hospital stay was around $2k. I gave my story about surgery in the "interview" with Stratomsk.
So the total cost of your jaw surgery was 32G? Would you say you got your moneys worth out of all that? I'm seriously curious. A lot of your type seems to be cool with dropping a ton of cash on cosmetic surgery. Do you really feel your life has seen improvement equivalent to the cost of a new car?

@Stoned Tablet thankyou for giving me your blessing

Total cost was $2k. My underbite was really bad, my back teeth did not even touch. Took me so long to devour a meal. Would do it again 1000 times over. Yes.

@autisticdragonkin You're welcome

I was including the insurance cost with what you paid out of pocket. That money didn't materialize out of thin air.
Fair enough. And what are your thoughts on the other people who do this kinda thing?

I am happy that you are happy with your jaw surgery which was for purely medical reasons

also @Stoned Tablet I found the I-Pad app that you named yourself after Stoned I-Pad*yawn*

None really. People have to do what makes them happy. An underbite can be depressing to have. (as well as other -bites)

I knew it was a medical + cosmetic surgery. When you consult with the surgeon, he makes this extremely clear and tells you everything you need to know about the surgery, like how your face is going to change dramatically, how your bite will change dramatically, recovery time, etc. It's a procedure that's rising in popularity because of its label as a functional cosmetic procedure.

Hey, if @Stoned Tablet had a jaw defect that was affecting the quality of his life, I think that's perfectly reasonable to correct it. I think what can (should) all agree is fucked up is the hateful little nerds on sluthate.com posting weird gifs of twinks flashing their profile while simultaneously wishing death upon people who don't hate women as much as they do.

Yeah, fixating on one thing is pretty dumb, but there is a slight truth in their obsession with the jaws. Jaws make up for over 70% of the face. Their problem though is that their attitude sucks.

That whole maxilla thing... Isn't that why people get braces?

How can you move the teeth if the bone isn't there? Teeth roots rest in the bone. That's why they move upper/lower jaw forwards, backwards, upwards, or downwards.

For example, in an underbite, the maxilla is behind the mandible, skeletally speaking. You can't just move the teeth out of the maxilla with braces to meet the teeth in the mandible, because that's like pulling the teeth in the upper jaw out lol.

You need braces with jaw surgery. I had braces for over a year before surgery. They move the teeth into the position that is ideal AFTER surgery. So your bite actually gets worse than it already is, and then boom everything is fixed after a 3-10 hour surgery. Last few months consist of minor braces adjustments to soldify the teeth into the perfect position.

It's not that I'm fixated on that one thing. It's that you appear to be. Look at your post here. You have clearly spent an absurd amount of time researching and obsessing about something that is, on the whole, pretty unimportant. I don't have flawless, straight teeth, and I really couldn't even describe what my jaw looks like, because I've never given it much thought. I done quite nicely for myself in the romance department, because I try to dress nicely and be the sort of person I would want to spend time around. I wouldn't imagine there are a ton of people on this site who would fit the standards people like you set for aesthetics, but they all seem to do just fine for themselves.
Do you see the point here? You've spent so much time focusing on the minutiae of facial bone structure that you've lost touch with anything that matters.

#Stoned Tablet is your username derived from the fact that you made your account while high and are using an iPad

Nope but that would be a cool story

I know about it only because I read a textbook detailing orthognathic surgery, which just happened to also talk about aesthetics because aesthetics is a huge component of jaw surgery. I also aspire to be an orthognathic surgeon.

Edit: I was amazed to find that a website called sluthate had users who had figured out the same things (solely talking about aesthetics) that a textbook written by an accomplished orthognathic surgeon talked about).

Okay, but why is that?
Why would you read a textbook detailing orthognathic surgery? Unless you're in medical school, I cannot fathom where you would come across something like that. I applaud your aspiration, most of my family is in medicine and I wish you luck in your endeavor. However, I feel that your affiliation with these sites, in combination with your fixation on this topic, is a little suspect. It reeks of someone who is overly concerned with physical appearance.

Hmm. I dunno. Maybe because I went through a major surgery and witnessed changes that I could not understand and became interested in the subject.
