The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Hey I GODDAMN loved predator 2010, does that make those that disliked it comments and reviews any less important? No it doesn't. They're so fast to hate on a MANLY VIOLENT movie. Getting back to TLOU2. The Metacritic for critics is 9,5 with 101 reviews, users.. 4,1 based on 59515 reviews. I just want to say one thing; No matter how smart you think you are, you aren't as smart as the internet. You're just going to get fucked if you try to fight it. Just see what happened to our beloved lolcow CWC.
I personally never seen 2010 predator, but if you like it cool beans. But There is a differnce between dismissing what people like, and dislike, and a denial of reality becuase that reality hurts too much. Like with the crazy spuds all over the internet that think TLoS2 is some 10/10 master piece that builds on the last game, and makes it better, and want to beleve it so hard, that they completely ignore the problems it has because they easily break this reality they have crafted after all these years of hype and waiting for the second game.

Ignorance is bliss after all is said and done.

Side note:Would rather not think about the internet fucking CWC, given Rule 34 a thing.

Even though i never thought the first game was anything particularly great it makes sad and angry to see something that meant a lot to so many people get ravaged and mangled like this.

I went to the subreddit, looked at this post, and couldn't take it anymore.
Bitches cried about pathologic because it‘s too challenging and hard as a game and a story. But game with generic third person action gameplay and journalist mode is challenging in a good way and makes you FEEL.

God fucking damn I thought people saying there was an option to auto-complete puzzles was a joke.

Its not.

What used to be cheat codes are now literally just 'accessibility options'.

NEW FUNKY MODE

Challenge accepted. I'm working from home tomorrow, so a trip out to my local supermarket, and I'll make and post and review my attempt at a bigot sandwich tomorrow lunch.
There should be a Babish video about the bigot sammich.

PewDiePie was wondering why they were sending a very pregnant woman out into a war zone (the pregnant woman Ellie kills before realizing she's pregnant).

That's a really, really good question and a stupid plot hole. I can't think of any good reason why that woman, that far along, would be sent on a mission into a war zone except that Druckmann wanted to make Ellie kill a pregnant woman.
Like Cr1tikal said in his video, it comes off as Neil really showing how shit he is at writing. He doesn't know how to write even though he's lauded as "Director" of the game.

How do I make a character emotional? OH I KNOW, I'll make her pregnant! Then when she's killed, I'll fucking hammer it into your head. "You killed a pregnant woman dude. You're fucked up".

Apparently 3 pregnant women died in the game, I'm not 100% on that. And if it's not that dumb bullshit, it's messy chronological writing. This I've seen in Pewd's playthrough, the chronological order of this game feels like it's all a memory of a methed up schizo. Everything is so out of wack that you'll kill a character then something like 6 hours later, you'll see that character again and once again it feels like Neil being like,

Hey remember this character? Remember? How you butchered this character? Turns out, he likes walks on the beach and he donated to stop animal cruelty. You feel awful yet, asshole?

Fuck you Neil, take a writing class you manbun wearing douche.
Irony is that it's 6/10 AT BEST But fart huffers think it's far better then it really is, because they want it to be better, and are willing to ignore everything and anything wrong in a denial of truth for it to hold up to what they want it to be.

Diffrent strokes might be for diffrent folks, but to deny the truth is to get a diffrent kind of STROKE. Just ask joel what kind of diffrent Stroke he got.
One of my friends said it was a great game. Fine enough, I just made fun of him for it. Playful dumb shit, "Idk man you're pretty gay, you played TLOU2".

Cause haha Ellie's gay.
And tranny sex scene.
He got extremely defensive and brought up personal shit and basically said, "You expected too much from it because it's a sequel. Don't be bitter because 2020 was a bad year for you. Now go cry like a little bitch".
Powerleveling, I know. But my point is that for some people defend this game so badly that in my case, they will go for the low blow to protect Cuckmann and his fuck ups.

The game takes place over the course of three days, for the most part. First is Ellie’s three days, mixed with a bunch of flashbacks, then you play the same three days as Abby, with even more flashbacks, then we get the final part which is like a couple years later. Also with flashbacks.
Even the ending has a flashback. So yeah, it’s a mess.

A blogger I subscribed to liked this game, and I wouldn’t mind that, but she also said “oh and I think anyone who disliked the game are stupid and have never read anything complex. Alas, to some people even avengers is a deep story“. Why are you be so defensive, that’s just a game lmao.

Hard to keep up with this active thread, but I'm seeing a lot of people saying "If at least it Abby this" or "I would have accepted if at least".

You're giving Druckman too much credit. This is clearly the act of somebody who hated and resented this series' popularity and it's fan. It was written poorly because he started with wanting to kill Joel and piss the fans and then started writing backward. He had no intention of this being written well or making sense, his only end goal was to upset fans, destroy the characters, and push Jewish propaganda too, because why not, that's their prime directive!

I don't really have a horse in this. I'm a PC master race so I've never played TLOU and didn't really care to because I'm really sick of the zombie genre. But seeing this done to fans is what gets to me. Believe me, I know a thing or two about watching characters get absolutely destroyed by awful antithetical writing (See my pfp :() and I saw the way people reacted to the reveal of this game. When everybody see Ellie playing guitar there was a roar from that crowd. And when Joel walks into frame the emotions in the room was palpable. They really loved these characters, and they were handed to somebody who hated them.

People are defenseive because they think if you like a bad thing then your taste in something must also be shit. They failed to realise you shouldn't be ashamed of liking something that is bad, or has faults, but trying to make everything seem the best when it's not does make it look like your taste is shit.

Like for example I like "Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue" for the N64, because it's a game I had as a kid, and it has a soft spot in my heart. But I wont deny and pretend the game is anywhere close to being good. It's god fucking awful.

Also since I am talking about shitty games I like. "Virus It's Aware" is another one.

I found a rom of it and played it viva emulation years ago, and despite it being God fucking awful I ironicly enjoy it like a person enjoys a bad B movie.

So they could have the following back and forth (paraphrasing):

Abby: "You could get a stay if you wanted to."
Mel: "No, I want to go."
Abby: "How does Owen feel about it?"
Mel: "What does his opinion have to do with it?"

You see, just because he's the father, he has zero say in whether or not the highly pregnant mother of his child should go into a very dangerous "warzone".
The entire game is full of more or less subtle digs at men and their unimportance.
That's exactly it. The story takes a back seat to the agenda. Even in this case, where it makes absolutely no sense, we have to get a dig in at the Patriarchy. And it worked out so well; that'll show them.

It sort of reminds me of Star Trek: Picard. The women are in charge and they're incredibly nasty throwing f-bombs at Picard to put him in his place. And Gene Roddenberry's optimistic view of our future has been supplanted by this dour, xenophobic, pessimistic view of the future now that authority in the Federation has been handed to the women. If the message is that things turn to shit once we take down the Patriarchy, then good job!

I can't believe iam asking this but if we were to take out druckmann making a synagogue out of an existing building that's not one, the whole writing Dina being written and looking like a stereotypical jewess and the rest of the bullshit and set up a scenario were two teenagers found a Torah left in a ruin in the same way this one is (open air and no protection as far as I can tell) ofr the time this bullshit happens after the apocalypse: Would that Torah be in better, similar or worss condition than the Dead Sea)
What, I'm still catching up with the thread and I got to find a way to blunt the pain

I man'ed up and decided to watch the final fight and ending of the game, I will share my thoughts. Consider I didnt watch the entire movie yet so I might be lacking context here and there.

Im going to assume Ellen has temporarly let go of getting revenge on Abby? Why is she freeing her? I could understand her freeing Levi but Abby? Ellen would use this oportunity to stab her in the baby maker and let her slowly bleed to death. Whatever
Next

At the 3:41 mark, Ellen suddenly remembers "oh yeah, I spent the entire game trying to kill this bitch" so she tries to she stab her in the neck when she isnt - HAhehehehe, nah, sorry, that is what a smart person would do and anyone who stands against Abby loses their common sense. Im going to assume Ellen wanted it more personal but given how they both are, whats the point? They are clearly severely exausted and weakened.

Then Ellen threatens to slice the neck of a boy to force Abby to fight her...they are REALLY trying hard to make Ellen seem like the monster of the situation, arent they? Why does Ellen even want Abby to fight back? its like she WANTS to make it harder on herself.

Then Ellen and Abby fight and the latter fights really well for someone who looked so exausted but she isnt capable of keeping up with Ellen's extremely original dodge mechanic. Abby gets sliced multiple times, enough times it would already put down a grown ass unharmed adult. For a game all about realism, they do have Ellen and especially Abby just ignoring life threatening injuries. Then Abby gets pinned to the ground and Ellen actually is above to bury the switch knife into Abby's chest....and Abby is still not only alive but with enough strength to fight back.
No...no....absolutely not. Im sorry but you can see it was more than just the tip of the knife, it was practically the half of the blade. Even if somehow that didnt hit any organs or major arteries, Abby is NOT suddenly just pulling it out and resuming the fight. That slow stab would have KILLED a healthy adult male or at least left it far too weakened to fight back. Its like these girls dont know the meaning of pain (Akuma would have a field day with them, I swear). But because Abby has more plot armor than Ellen, she is able to just resume fighting (even tho she has two stabbing holes in her arm and chest and other slash marks all over her body).

Then we go into a very boring fist to fist fight. Its a poor man's MGS4 final boss fight. MGS4's was satisfying, intense and one of the highlights of a rather divisive game (even people who dont like MGS4 do say that its one of the few amazing moments in the game). Fuck, I feel like talking about MGS4 more than this garbage, its far less boring.

Then we go into the lady fingers scene, where Ellen, again, like an idiot, tries to hold Abby's head down by putting her hand ON HER MOUTH. The obvious happens and Abby bites them off...rather quickly. Human fingers arent that easy to bite off, its not very hard but movies make it seem far too easy as well. Oh yes, here it comes once again...DONT THEY KNOW THE MEANING OF PAIN?! Ellen just ignores it and just resumes like nothing happened. Holy shit this fight's awful.

Then we get a bizzare scene of Ellen finally getting the upper hand but because suddenly Joel decides to screw over Ellen by putting images of him in her head (thats my headcanon anyway, serves her right for being a selfish lesbo who doesnt want to at least try to have immune children and then having the guts of being mad at him for saving her) she then lets Abby go for some reason...Ellen didnt stop at killing PREGNANT WOMEN and yet when she is killing the person she came after, she begins to cry like its a vietnam war movie and lets her live. Abby has killed her father figure, nearly killed her Gewish pregnant girlfriend and just bit off her fingers but suddenly it all hits in at once? Get the fuck out of here, Cuckmann. Its as if he refuses to let us kill his tranny waifu.

So then...fight's over? Abby suddenly just gets her breath back unrealistically quick and doesnt attack Ellen? In her eyes, Ellen is defenseless...guess they truly want to make her seem like the good guy (yes I know what I said) of the fight. Who's to say Ellen isnt playing an act and just waiting for Abby to lower her guard again? Guess Abby knows Ellen isnt that smart when facing her.

So Abby escapes, ignoring the multiple cuts, stabs, bruses and near drowning that totally wont lead to an infection. I have seen anime fights that are more realistic than this. Then Ellen is left alone, crying in the water like its some sort of "deep" moment. My clogged toilet is deeper than this, Cuckmann. Imagine doing this with any movie about revenge? John Wick? Imagine if when he is about to kill the antagonist, he has visions of his dog and begins crying, then lets the bad guy go because....aww...."meeeh violence". Imagine if Taken ended with the villains being let go because violence baaaaad. But it goes far worse than that. They want to make it seem like Ellen is the bad guy and that she just now realized and "omg, im a monster" blah blah blah...yeah, Cuckmann, there are several movies and even games that did this far better than you did, you aint fooling anyone by acting like this is original. Oh, those were straight white male examples so they shouldnt count, right? Okay, fine, imagine if Ripley hesitated killing the alien queen because the poor queen just wanted to create a home for her adorable little babies and Ripley is such a monster for killing her...and she lets her go (cue the queen massacrating her, Bishop, Hicks and Newt), if it sounds like the most autistic thing ever...well, thats because it is...and this guy made it into a game. And by extention, he wants YOU to feel bad for wanting these people (and dogs) dead...eeeeven tho the game NEVER gives you the option to not kill them. At least when Undertale tries to make you feel bad for murdering people, its clear that you are choosing this when you could have not done it so at least there it felt justified. Its not fair to judge the player over something YOU forced us to do it, Cuckmann.

So now we come to the end of this amazing (?) journey....

Ellen is now alone, because she is so bad, she is a monster and yada yada yada and even contextually it doesnt make sense. Its like the ending of the True Grit remake but awful. So Ellen tries to play the guitar but cant because she is missing fingahs...because revenge is bad, you know. Then she begins to have a realization through a flashback to a much better game that will never exist (just like the player thats realizing they should have heard the warnings and that they are probably not getting a refund). After the flashback that actually give us what we wanted, Joel and Ellen together and talking, we cue back to the present, she leaves the guitar and rides off into the sunset...nah, she just walks through a field as lame banjo music plays like this is a deep moment and...there, its over. No post credit scenes, no anything. Perhaps just a hidden message among the credits saying "No refunds, fool".

Soo...yeah, Ellen lost everything, gained nothing...

Just like the player...

Because...revenge is bad, yo....

And it took 7 years to tell us that....

So I remember that Korean guy breaking the game was because the first game was sentimental to him because it released near after his father's death
And he got attached to Joel alot
And now they are pretty much bragging about killing him on Father's Day
It really puts into perspective that they are essentially mocking their audience for caring about Joel and it was probably extra hurtful to that dude since it's closely attached to losing his dad
but I guess anything for Neil to air out his obvious daddy issues by trolling people
