My personal theory: because American blacks fear police abuse (due partially to muh legacy of slavery but mostly, these days, due to the Democrat party and the MSM feeding them fresh fear in perpetuity), and because they tend to live in lawless shitholes where they abuse and victimize each other, they effectively believe there is no rule of law and default to "honor culture" mode. And in an honor culture, you have to answer insults with force to control perception of your strength or weakness.
When people say American blacks tend to be more "street smart," this is what they're really getting at, even if they don't know it. And, sadly, American blacks have made honor culture a part of "the black identity." This is why they often have no respect for people who follow laws and who try to live peacefully and respectfully towards others. They see agreeableness as weakness in an honor culture where it would be weakness.
