The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

I just got a flashback scene with Joel and Ellie and it was actually good. You know, the only thing I actually liked about the first game was the relationship dynamic between Ellie and Joel so totally removing it and giving us small drips throughout the game might have been a good strategy if the rest of the story wasn't so meh to shit that those scenes look like gold by comparison.

You’re telling me every story needs to be inspiring and full of joy, you do realize the kind of world Last of Us is right? Or are you just dense or ignorant? I say both. It seems like there can’t be any dark and realistic harsh stories to be told anymore, everything has to be full of fake fan service, inserting hero endings cuz yeah all heroes in real life die like that, even tho most don’t. Also what does his daughter have to do with making a game about a harsh post apocalyptic world, it’s too realistic for your taste so you attack the man, saying he’s sick. I think you watched too much mcu movies. You’re far off from reality, and sadly we can’t make see realistic takes only fan service.

Fart huffing consoomer faggot alert.

VG247: Everyone who doesn't like TLoU2 is a dumb incel!

"Their background also makes it seem like they are only "trans" out of a desire to not be made a wife to the elders of the cult rather than any genuine desire of changing their gender."

What exactly prevents the elders from going "lol, you still have girl holes" and going to town on that peep?

Just because they're a cult doesn't mean they don't respect pronouns, bigot.

I am all for civil rights for sexuality. (am anti LGBT though, thats purely marxist) But pronouns shit i am gonna mock and never gonna aknowledge. You are male or female. If you are gonna go with "he/him" then thats a justifable case of mockery in my view :)

Here you go again with your shitty hot take. This is not about having a sexy appearance. All your mentioned examples are just another proof that you actually are the one without any kind of knowledge.
List any athlete in those fields who gains those muscles without any supplemental help.
Pro tip: you can’t.
And genetics? Jesus Christ, just stop it already. Why wasn’t her high iq doctor hypocrite dad buff? Or was it her mum, which we conveniently never saw?
Does everyone has to be buff like her, she’s just a unique character that happened to be buff. Why are you upset about it. It’s like saying why not all women or men are like those ufc women or bodybuilders or power lifters. Not everyone has the same interest, I guess they can’t exist.

With the world being essentially over and everyone is constantly having to literally fight for survival. More people would be looking like this. Strong, thick and rugged rather than prim proper and "sexy". Cuz women won’t be doing modeling, they will be fighting and surviving. If you think training in a post apocalyptic story is unrealistic then I think you should start educating yourself more about survival stories. There are many women athletes around the world, you find it in ufc, wwe, CrossFit, bodybuilding and powerlifting competitions and all kinds of sports, you will find buff women, a lot of them are, you also need to know that sometimes genetics plays a big role, and that is actually true to a lot of athletes. If Ellie is unique and has immunity, why can’t Abby be also different and have her own unique traits. It’s not a hard concept to grasp on.

Theyd be more like skinny 3rd worlders. And there is a difference between functional training (soldiers, MMA fighters) and bodybuilding. Abby is basically a roid freak gymrat.

“And there is a difference between functional training (soldiers, MMA fighters) and bodybuilding. Abby is basically a roid freak gymrat.”

So how do you know that? Why is she just a roid freak gymrat and not a bodybuilder or soldier or whatever? If you can’t answer that then you’re just hating for the sake of it. Abby is modeled after a real freak of nature, which happens to be also natural, but I guess that doesn’t count either.

Neil's not going to fuck your ass while wearing mocap.
So I can’t love the game? I loved it, sue me anime bio guy lol.

Oh for fuck's sake. This has got to be a troll post. Right? If not, it badly needs a fisking.

Gamers aren't used to deep and complex storytelling? Where have you been living the past 20+ years?

Pillars of Eternity, anyone? With its exploration of godhood, what it means to be a god, and similar?

Torment, anyone? What can change the nature of a man?

Witcher, anyone? Baldur's Gate, anyone? IHNMAIMS, anyone? Jesus wept.

The most realistic post apocalpytic world ever? In a pig's arse it is. If you're used to the whimsical cozy catastrophe style of Fallout, maybe, But we're expected to believe that in mushroom zombie world there would be a load of factions and stuff who just happen to be able to pull a fully loaded medical suite out their arse? Have you ever seen Threads, which is based on what actually might happen in the event of global thermonuclear war and in which society is reduced to a hopeless existence where every day is a struggle for survival? Indeed, it's been said that in the event of global thermonuclear war, the survivors would envy the dead.

And no, this is not why Abby ends up built like a brick shithouse. To be that well built requires a pretty hefty calorific intake as well as lifting multiple times a day every day. You know that thing about a struggle for survival? Where's she getting all that protein from? Speaking of which, if it's so dangerous to be out of town or wherever, where's all the food being grown? A farm in such a world is a big juicy target for roving marauders because where there is no economy and people have to take matters into their own hands, food is the universal currency.

Gamers aren't intelligent enough for it. Fuck off you pseud.

Too mature for others to understand. Really. Come on. Use your loaf. I've said it before - adults like character development and tight plots. "It's good because it's bleak" is for edgy teenagers. The first game worked because it was all about the father/daughter relationship between Joel and Ellie and the plot was kept pretty tight and lean. This fails because it stomps all over previous character development, suffers from endless plot tumours and irrelevant shit, and replaces proper story beats with cheap manipulation and sacrificing main characters for shock value, and unfortunately, people like you completely fail to understand that the Emperor is naked.

But then, you know what they say. You can lead a bugman to wisdom but you cannot make him think.

“Pillars of Eternity, Torment, Witcher, Baldur's Gate, IHNMAIMS.”

lol non of these games are deep or complex or even close to be as dark as LOU, and most of these are pc role play games wtf. What a nerd.

So you didn’t play the game ya? Everything you stated is already answered in the game and they talked about it and showed how and where she lived, they told us she lives in a big shelter inside a stadium, guarded with many people, all kinds of items, herd farms, schools, gyms, and so on. They found a place to settle in and be productive. Maybe next time if you’re trying to argue play the game or at least watch it before embarrassing yourself like that.

To be fair, they're also the same faggot that unironically enjoyed shit like Fallout 76

It’s just that you people have poor taste, you don’t know what great storytelling is. You just want fan service, and biased story. ND made a realistic take of what actually could have happened, they didn’t pick sides of any character, they gave every character their perspective, like tv shows except this time you play as them, they didn’t create a plot armor story, they made something gamers don’t have the brains to understand.

May I ask, can you tell me the realistic aspects of the plot? I just want you to lay it out as I feel that people are just going to be shouting over each other rather than coming to an understanding.

Yeah, the game where you discover that the Gods were not only false, but were invented by the ancients and which is based on various forms of moral philosophy isn't dark or complex.

The game where you are the last five humans trapped in the belly of an insane AI which tortures them to retain its own sanity isn't as dark as the mushroom zombie game, is it.

The game where you literally wake up dead and have to solve the mystery of why you can't die in a setting which is powered by philosophy and belief and questions what can change the nature of a man isn't dark or complex, is it.

But then again, given you think PC RPGs are for nerds you probably think that Last of Us is complex. It really isn't. You just cannot understand that the emperor is naked.

So where did they get all that from post apocalypse? How did they manage to carry out a major construction project in a world where there's no order or infrastructure and which has been overrun by reavers and mushroom zombies. Did it just spring into being? Nope, it just appeared because the script needs the plot to happen.

Once again, Threads:

In an urban society, everything connects. Each person's needs are fed by the skills of many others. Our lives are woven together in a fabric. But the connections that make society strong also make it vulnerable.

Mushroom zombie plague is exactly what would unravel those threads, albeit more slowly than global thermonuclear war. Just look at Corona-chan in real life 2020. Social distancing mitigates the death rate and flattens the curve but at a huge cost to the economy. The threads are being stretched quite a lot. Now imagine the mushroom plague. It's not only a novel pathogen like Covid-19 but also is similarly infectious just from spores and particles. But it also can be spread by contact with infected and turns its victims into vectors for its further transmission. It's also way more lethal by several orders of magnitude. Wallop, there go the threads.

Now, to build the WLF's base in the stadium would require significant manpower who are all, in effect, agreed or can be coerced into working upon it. It would require a workforce full time. All these people need feeding and housing and to avoid being got by infected or reavers. And prevented from thinking, fuck this for a game of soldiers, I'll take my chances with the mushroom zombies. This is why the "cozy catastrophe" doesn't work, or only works after many generations have come and gone. Think about this. The Western Roman Empire fell in 453. It took over 500 years before successor states approaching similar power and population came along in western Europe, and that was with trade and commerce from the Eastern Roman Empire, Persia, India, and China atop it. It wasn't that people forgot how to do things, it was that they didn't have the infrastructure in place to do it because they'd looted it all to survive.

But yeah. The script needs the plot to happen. So their base just pops into being.

Isn't this game set in a world with 60% of the population dead and people struggling to survive? Why should we sympathise with Abby when she has access to more resources than most people living now do?

Wow what a great discovery, I never heard of religion being invented, I thought it was real. Damn so dark and complex lol.

Wtf that sounds so dumb. But okay role player it’s clearly very deep and realistic.

Yes, realistic.

Because Abby punching the shit out of contagious-on-touch zombies makes any sense even within the game's own established ruleset.

Its laughable that you think TLOU2 sucking Abby's man-cock is at all "realistic" and is "great storytelling" - please, why don't you give some other examples of great writing, given your tastes I would expect you to say the last two Star Wars films or perhaps you enjoyed GoT Season 8?

And then when you're done felating garbage you can go read some actual great literature like The Great Gatsby or The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
