(I will preface this by saying I think Nate is okay and his One Piece podcast is not as soulless as the six gorillion live react channels)
Nate has a Maddox personality and is committing slow motion suicide by quitting his programming job to do Youtube full-time, but I would assume Mostly Here for Lurking has some unrelated grievance.
Being a lolbertarian is one of three standards for 4redditors.

To be fair he left his job on pretty good terms and said that he stayed an extra month or so just so he could leave on good terms. If youtube fails for him (I assume his channel/patreon is declining but I havent been looking at his numbers) he has those 5~ years of experience to fall back on and find himself a new job.
I wonder if his big GitS video that he keeps claiming hes still working on is actually ever going to come out

May is trying so hard to be the breadwinner it's getting hilarious.

Attached are the charts he talks about in this video
So for someone who has watched a dozen or so anime but has no interaction with the fan-base. Is this whole seeing yourself through the characters a legit part of autism and not being able to identify/understand most other people or is it more like holding up your favourite jersey and yelling "GO RANGERS!"? Is this legit how he sees the world/himself or is it something he used as a crutch and just became obsessed which led to the trans stuff? A bit of both?

I'm going to fuck off now as I don't know much about anime or digibro I'm just genuinely curious.

Digibro is (metaphorical at least) a cellar dweller and anime characters make up the majority of "people" he "interacts" with. His whole retarded ideas of gender roles seems to be fueled by chinese cartoons. He doesn't understand normal people simply because he hasn't much contact with them - be it because of autism or whatever.

The sheer number of characters he comes up with here definitely betrays his autism though.

It's a crutch for the lack of interaction with the real world as thus became legit how he sees the world/himself.

My interpretation anyways.

Somebody should try and identify all these characters. I bet they're mostly from a few years before (including older stuff if it ran on adult swim during that time) and maybe two years after his brony days. After that he lost interest in animu.

I am going to have to agree with @Autistic Screech here. I recognize about 90% or more of these characters and there is no real theme or idea. Listened to the first two hours of the video before giving up since it felt all over the place. To keep in mind, he hasn't seen a lot of these shows in years and literally barely remembers much from any of them which makes sense considering he watches a lot of anime drunk and probably watches it while high now and has seen a bunch of trash primarily anime music videos to get his MAL over 1000 completed anime. Even though he doesn't give a fuck about anime anymore its pretty much the only way he can really explain his ideas or even understand himself to any degree. Same reason he used anime characters to explain his "Neurotyping" chart bullshit.

Most of this anime falls between 2003-2013 just taking a glance at it so you may be onto something.

I'm no expert but I've heard that autistic people in general tend to identify strongly with cartoons (and the overly animated and bombastic YouTubers) because they have a very hard time reading the often subtle facial expressions of people in a more normalized setting.

So when they see characters and YouTubers very clearly expressing themselves, probably to the point of their eyes bulging out of their head, or just otherwise yelling and screaming, it's probably a lot easier for them to latch onto and identify with that character, than say the more subtle portrayals you see in theater and good movies and television.

And it probably depends on the severity of their autism.

That's always been my understanding of it. Isn't one of the tests for autism to see if you can tell a facial expression from just the eyes alone? And then they even have to pick the eyes they show you based on the region you live/grew up in as different cultures will often express things differently.

Autogynephilia strikes again!
Nah, man. That's just made up to deligitimize trans-people (Something that a trans acquaintance once told me).

I just learned this about Digi-Bro. Golly.

As we are talking about autism, what is it with its connection to gender dysphoria. Is it something like Chris Chan in that it amounts to fetishizing a narrow definition of femininity to the point where you'd want to actually want to become a woman?
