I have never even heard of her challenger. And voters on both sides of the aisle hate the media. Well the GOP gets a free boogeyman and Nancy Pelosi must deal with this. Then again she is turning into AOC herself for the past 2 years after impeachment was announced. This means the democrats are slowly getting on board with what the Justice Dems want.

The "system is corrupt" does have some truth in it. The irony is that the Democrats that they repeatedly voted in, made things the way they are, and then they exclaim the system is corrupt and to remove police. These same people that proclaim ACAB/BLM rhetoric, are being paid for by the very people that made the system they way it is, and they don't even realize it.

Bernie has a low vote count because he withdrew his candidacy. People generally don't vote for politicians who have conceded defeat because there's no point.

I was lucky enough to have some of that white privilege everyone keeps talking about. I used to drink in a cop bar with cops when I was a junior/senior is high school. Didn't hurt I have a lot of LEO/civservs in my family, but none of those cops knew me or my family, it wasn't even in the same county. God bless my pink nipples.

The system is corrupt, just not in the way that these people want to believe. The police in urban areas, generally speaking, are just working class schlubs trying to make it through the day without getting shot. In many cities the majority of them are already black. If cops are corrupt in any meaningful way, it's not with brutality on the streets but lying in court... and that's where the corruption lies. I can basically guarantee you that all these elected district attorneys crying in the media and throwing the book at every cop built their careers until [cuurent year] on making sure cops testified the way the state wanted them to.

But even when you get to court, you better damn sure have a decent (and therefor expensive) lawyer. If OJ Simpson was some lower middle class nobody who lived in some blue collar neighborhood, he would have been convicted in two days or would have realized that his public defender was only good for a plea bargain to 2nd degree... either way it was at least two decades in prison. But because OJ had some money to burn, he was able to pull in some very competent lawyers... and the fact that the prosecutors were shit didn't hurt either... but generally speaking, you need very competent council to avoid being railroaded by the state. The cops are at best pawns... the bishops and queens and kings are all in the DA's office and the prison-industrial system.
