I'm sure he was doing something online, but what was it?

But I thought you said she was perfectly fine and normal before? 🤔

Heather's not a vegan, is she? Seems like it'd be hard to stay that fat as a strict enough vegan. Either holiday binge drinking turned into all-the-time binge drinking (I'd want to drown in vodka if I were Zach's paypig too), she's got a nasty autoimmune disease, or she's severely diabetic. Or any combination of the above. None of these options sound like she's going to be back on the webcam teaching Chinese brats English anytime soon, and she'd need to work more than ever since it's one of those places where any missed appointments/imperfect ratings fuck up your income.

COVID test is negative. Next up: the Zinnia Jones Bankruptcy Saga. Are they going to be able to take out student loans while going through a bankruptcy? Who's even going to drive him to class? Seems like Zach's time larping being a Serious Statistics Student may be over for now.

nope, bagel and banana snack had cream cheese, I swear we have seen the throuple at chilis which has basically no vegan food, and they are too poor to spring for vegan food replacements.

re: b12. The body stores and reuses the same store of b12 over some crazy timespan like a decade, it takes a long time to become deficient unless you're pregnant a lot, and then it takes awhile to cause anemia. If she has been taking prilosec or a similar drug for years and years it can sometimes lead to a b12 deficiency. There can be malabsorption for another reason (legit celiacs is one cause, other parts of the digestive tract malfunctioning can cause b12 deficiency over a very long timeline, people who have shortened intestines from weight loss surgery, etc). Autoimmune disorders can also cause anemia.

the main symptom of low b12 is fatigue. She was working 2 jobs that way.

I think stress can be a big, big factor too. People often dismiss the effect stress has in the body, but it can be as far as "cheating" your body and make it believe it has a severe illness that isn't really there and act accordingly. Heather's supporting two children and a manchild in the middle of a pandemic when many people's incomes are on the line. All while probably feeling exhausted because she's obese and not very healthy. The stress she probably has is likely making her body feel like she was assaulted by a train.

In case she recovers, I hope the hospital workers are able to see that she needs help beyond physical. She can't keep on by acting as Zach's mother.

ETA: heavy uterine bleeding can be caused by the thyroid reacting to a very high case of stress. I mention it because I've seen this same scenario in someone close to me. Is there anything particularly stressing that happened before Heather's accident? I think that put in motion this drama: stress -> headache -> dizziness -> fall. The person I'm talking about was in an accident. She was ok, but got bad the next days.

Yeah, Zinnia isn't a reliable narrator, and I don't really get why they are lying about Heather's current condition. I'm assuming they are lying to themself because their future is looking pretty bleak.

Something I noticed, Zinnia calls it "procedures" however Heather apparently calls it "surgery". From my experience doctors refer to it as a "procedure" to make it sound less scary.

Zach’s tweets are painting a bleak picture for Heather’s future.
The vibe it is giving off are those people whose loved one has slipped into a coma and because she moves her pinkie or twitches an eyelid, they think she is making progress. Now, I'm sure Heather's case is not that dire, but the Pollyanna tone of his posts is so uncharacteristic of Zach that it just screams cope.

Not having any pain after a surgery doesn't mean you're doing amazing. It means you're hopped up to the gills on opioids.

It's pretty common after even minor outpatient surgeries to feel like a million bucks for a little while in the outpatient center if you haven't had any bad response to anesthetic, then after you get home the pain hits like a brick wall because you're no longer getting IV doses of loopy-juice.

Zach still seems to think this is going to be a situation where the magic doctors make mommy all better so that she can recover in a quick week or two. This is a woman who can't feed herself. If you've ever known someone who had a brain bleed or injury, you'll know that the emotional effects are often tremendous. This is a woman who might come back home with major anger issues triggered by random cues, or who may suddenly decompensate in the middle of a normal routine. His relationship is built around him being the dependent one who can always count on her as ol' reliable. The psych impacts this will have will come as a total shock to him.

it can also mean nerve damage

anyway- heather insisting on feeding herself, saying she talks better than yesterday, etc. It means there is some brain damage even with the clots gone, may or may not be something that she can recover from completely. Her kids are probably scared shitless. I don't know if zach's problem is autism, npd, or some kind of mix, but either way he is not going to be capable of providing much comfort for others.

So her right leg is so much better...but she still can't bend because it's so numb.

Five days sounds awfully optimistic, or like they expect Zach to be able to help Heather around the house and with getting to myriad appointments.

Hm. I wonder, given how much care they're actually required to provide, whether she'll basically be kicked out of the hospital once they stabilize her in a few days and no "rehab" will happen without insurance.

I suspect in a week we'll be seeing outraged, panicked screeds from Zinnia about how terrible healthcare is and how they don't care about followup care unless you have money.
