Zach's always been used to getting his way, other people's convenience be damned. If he has to Weekend at Bernie's her ass, then by god Zack will strap on a system of pulleys and levers so that Heather can drive him to college and he can LARP as a sexy 16 year old Japanese schoolgirl again.

Poor Zach will end up being mistaken for a patient on that brain injury floor.

So her right leg is so much better...but she still can't bend because it's so numb.

Five days sounds awfully optimistic, or like they expect Zach to be able to help Heather around the house and with getting to myriad appointments.

Hm. I wonder, given how much care they're actually required to provide, whether she'll basically be kicked out of the hospital once they stabilize her in a few days and no "rehab" will happen without insurance.

I suspect in a week we'll be seeing outraged, panicked screeds from Zinnia about how terrible healthcare is and how they don't care about followup care unless you have money.
He wouldn't be entirely wrong about that. Our medical system / insurance is a mess. Why didn't they sign up for Obama care, though?

Depending on the state your options on the exchange can be pretty shitty. Florida I'm gonna guess is not great in that department. Not that it was a good decision to go uninsured, but I can see why they made it.

Even in a red state they'll probably qualify for Medicaid with Heather unable to work, though.

I can sum up the latest tweets.

"Me me me me me. The physical therapist thinks I'm biologically a woman. Me me me me me."

How do you know that someone has assumed you menstruate, too? Were they just comfortable about talking about periods to you? It is possible that the person assumed that a dude married to a woman for 10 years would know about their wife's periods. It is also possible that they are just uber PC and didn't want a "it's ma'am" moment from someone who looks like a meth head (those teeth ...). I'd be willing to bet any explanation besides "they thought I was a real woman!" is more probable in Zach's case.

How nice that the most important things are 1) Zach's validation and 2) he gets to take off his shoes. By the way, does Zach think people in hospital beds wear shoes? His brain must be permanently stunted at the age of 12.

Looks like Zach has his aim set on his next paypig. And since it's someone with a dick, Zach will actually sleep with them instead of having having to bring in another tranny to cuck them!

I would pay good money to have been there when Zach tried to flirt with him, just to see the look on his face when he saw Zack's meth mouth.

He should start raising funds now, and the first funds he raises should be for driving lessons. People will be more willing to give to him if he's actively taking on responsibilities instead of just asking for money to spend on takeout and rent, but I doubt he'll be that smart.

Bitching about covid into the void

What a drama queen. Look, if the ICU of a hospital isn't able to manage the spread of covid, we're all fucked. If Zach ever makes anything not about himself or to get noticed on social media, I will know that the apocalypse is upon us.

"And lo, a giant anus opened from the ground, and the sounds of canned vegetable farts uttered forth; and then the Four Horse Cocks of the Apocalypse emanated from the gaping chasm, bringing forth War, Pestilence, Famine, and Death To All Cis People."

You know, there is a chance Zach's lying and overreacting to Heather's mild condition. Munchies by Proxy exists for a reason...

You don't have two brain surgeries and a week in the hospital if the problem's actually minor or mild. Zack is a completely unreliable narrator, but that sounds pretty serious to me. It's more likely that her condition is much more dire than Zack is claiming in his tweets.

To be fair, it’s difficult to follow the minutiae of neurosurgery when you’re frantically updating your Grindr profile.

She's still in ICU, which means her condition is still serious. It sounds like they haven't yet identified the clotting disorder, which means her care is mostly reactive at the moment.

It will probably be a couple of months before the permanent effects of this are known. If Zinnia is expecting linear improvement until Heather is back to normal, she's in for a rude shock. There are almost always long term effects, even if they're subtle ones.

One of the long term effects is a higher chance of having another stroke later down the line, her risk will go up with age as well. It can get harder to notice an additional stroke if the symptoms are too similar to the lingering effect of the first stroke. Losing weight is one of the main things she can do to help herself, but the risk from obesity is less than the risk of having already suffered a stroke, and it can be harder to lose weight when you're sedentary for reasons outside your control.

since covid is out, I am going to vote lupus. It could explain the clotting and the anemia. The tests are probably send outs unless the hospital has a really big lab for some reason (some do, most don't).

What really fucks me off about this is how he is just deciding to become educated about health problems now, and spent how many years brushing heather's health problems off as hypochondria? She at a minimum had some menstrual issue and serious fatigue. I have no doubt that learning about medicine is going to piss him off because sex, and sometimes race or ethnicity, actually matters for reasons that are purely biological.

Looks like Heather feeding herself at lunch didnt go so good if Zinnia had to feed her dinner. Also Zinnia is reading to her? Does that mean Heather can't read currently?

aphasia generally fucks up the ability to speak, write, or read.

Woman had a stroke, her family came to visit. Without skipping a beat, her husband shamelessly asked if she would still be able to cook and clean. Felt like slapping him on her behalf, but at least he cut straight to business.

I see that guy in Zack’s performative behavior, but he somehow manages to be even more cowardly. He’ll never be able to ask that question, but he will silently hope that another mommy will step in after seeing his little song and dance.
Heather is in for a very difficult road ahead, one that requires a pretty drastic change in lifestyle for herself and those around her. There isn’t a shred of doubt in my mind that Zack will abandon this woman when he realizes she can’t take care of three kids like she used to.

He isn’t afraid of the reality of her situation, he’s afraid of facing the reality of his own, and it’s all finally catching up to him.
